I actually found the game on steam before I watched any of these videos, so I decided to check it out. Amazing! I will wishlist the game, since it looks great and I don't want Joe coming to my house tonight.
Suggestion: you should add walls that help the little players by providing cover and the huge player can remove it with cash. these walls come with the map at the start
It would be a great idea if there was a branching tree for the big player. That way, you start with a small number of towers, and with time your arsenal is expanded and you unlock the two upgrades for each tool
Such a chill game, also I don't know why but somehow I feel like the name "Floppy Guy" is pretty catchy for a steam game name. Love seeing where this is going!
The gameplay and concept seems very fun! Would be really nice if you could add more unique player models or add customization with skins, or multiple death/entrance animations for the big guy, but im definitely excited for what the game will end up like!
This is really cool to watch happen! I have a suggestion: when you load in and everyone is assigned a random color, you then have to battle for the mega guy position. When the mega guy is chosen, have them be the same color as the one you loaded in as, to allow for better flow. Or maybe allow color selecting too so you could have like teams mode where Red and Blue (Or any color for that matter) little guys try and deal more damage to the mega guy than the other team.
Sadly you are not the first game with a potatoe mode, Cryzen X did this for his remake of ocarina of time, anyway, the game looks really fun and I'm rly hyped for it! keep up the good work, as a dev i know how long it is to make all these things like matchamking etc so, good job! (btw, maybe you should change the walk animation, I think that the legs dosn't move enough)
I do have a idea for Towers and abilities here are some and what they do. PUNCHING GLOVE: Will be placed on the track and will push up every 3 seconds and will push the floppy guys up and could push them in the water. The 2 variations after gold would be STEEL GLOVE: Dose A lot more knockback damage but punches up every 5 seconds and The 3 PUNCHER which is 3 punching gloves and has a better chance to hit a floppy guy. FARM: do i even need to explain? QUICKSAND: Will make floppy guys sink into the ground and falling into the water. (Also i have no clue for upgrades on this tower) Now time for abilitys for the big floppy guy. FIRE WALL: Has a wall of fire on the track that make the floppy guys not able to go through it but you can jump over it if you can jump high enough. EARTHQUAKE: Has the map shake and has parts of the track split form the normal track making it turn into parkour but the track will fix its self after 2 minutes. ARMY: The big floppy guy spawns 5 small floppy guys to attack and knock off the normal small floppy guys and the players will need to slap the fake floppy guys off the track. METEOR: Sends a huge meteor to the map and hits the map making players get thrown back unless they have a tanky build.
At this point the players feel fleshed out well so honestly I think more interesting maps should be the goal. Maybe a map with an emphasis on height or moving platforms? Also some more variations of the placeable towers like a reverse variant off the black hole or a fan that spins faster would be cool.
These videos have been hilarious dude! The bugs have been cracking me up and it’s so fascinating seeing the dev process. Have you toyed with the idea of the big guy needing to interact with the towers? I thought of it when watching the balls - maybe the big guy needs to hit them with his big ole hands to get them swinging or something
New idea for you game: Make a goofy ahh version of the Wrecking ball as your game sounstrack. It could be like a secret soundtrack when you add enough wrecking balls or something
I’ve been watching your videos for a whiles and they’re always super entertaining! I think about being a game designer myself and I thought of some ideas you could tinker with. 1: laser tower. It’s like a cylinder that makes a long strong wind box in front of it for a short time then taking time to recharge. It could probably upgrade into the fast laser that shoots quick or the big laser which has a larger wind box 2: mega jump/gravity slam. The big player can jump/point to an area that causes players to be launched vertically into the air unexpectedly then slammed downwards. 3: portal tower. A placeable tower that can be put onto the field that when a player touches it they get teleported to an earlier point on the track. Upgrades could be to have it shrink a bit in size but make the player go to the start instead of a random place and to have the portal gain a bigger collision box. Keep up the work! I’ll be watching and I can’t wait to play :)
It would be cool to incentivize sort of classes, like defender or healer. For this to be important, maybe also have an injury stat where the more damage you take, the more you fall, rag doll, and stay down. And then maybe there’s an item that can heal players. And perhaps an attacker that can attack or stun the defenses. Just some thoughts, but either way, this game is looking great and you’ve been doing great work!
You should make a destructive feature which can allow the little guys to damage towers. Could be helpful if the big guy made too many towers. Or make a tower cap, which the big guy could upgrade but would force him to be smart about what towers he uses and where he places them. To be fair you could make different towers consume different amounts of the capacity depending on hoe powerful said tower is.
Tower idea: sobot factory Basically it produces sobots they are basically metallic version of the character that you play as they also have a bazooka arm cuz why not Bronze: increased knockback Silver: Even higher knock back Gold: second rocket launcher First upgrade: Giant sobots double the respawn time but they now get a machine gun on their head and are very big Second upgrade: HELICOPTER permanently spawns a helicopter that has a machine gun mounted and missile launchers You can only have one helicopter at a time also it still spawns the normal sobots Third upgrade: snipers Gives the sobots sniper rifles that allows them to shoot from across the map and do more knockback if it's a headshot Tower idea 2: silo It's a missile silo launches missiles that do lots of knock back Bronze: more knockback Silver: slightly increased fire rate: Gold: a bit more fire rate and knockback First upgrade: double silo Each missile does less knockback but fires quicker Second upgrade: ballistic missile The missiles shoot slower but do massive knockback Tower idea 3: plane It would create a runway whenever you place it then a plane would come out of it The plane would circle the area you want it to it would have missiles that would do decent knock back Bronze: bigger area it can circle Silver: shoots missiles faster Gold: adds a machine gun First upgrade: jet Plane is now twice as fast but also has more missiles that do less knock back each but shoot a lot faster also bigger area it can circle Second upgrade: paratroopers The plane is now bigger and slower it now drops down paratroopers that have a assault rifle they disappear after 10 seconds though (after landing) Floppy guy upgrade idea: EMP gun Disable towers for a few seconds maximum of 3 towers at a time costs a lot though Floppy guy upgrade idea 2: car You get a car that has its own HP is also decently fast but costs a lot Those are all of the ideas I can come up with also have this
At the end you should give the mini players a time limit for a mini battle royale to eat the big guys segments for unlocking new upgrades to reference its Bloons origins
The big guy should be able to pay to elect one of the small guys as an "imposter" who intentionally sabotages other small guys. Edit: the price should depend on how many players are in the lobby (in general the prices of towers, or the money gained per kill, should be based on the number of players in the game)

Speed boy Simple the players move faster in the game 2.spawm Item Its simple when i player respawns they get 1 random item from joe's shop but only one and once they die another random item they will get

Keep the slapfest at the start to decide who the big guy is... And maybe other fun minigames... It will be different every time, people will come back to check out new beginnings.
Can you have a game mode with 2 big guys, and they have to work against each other with the little guys going from one end of the map to the other letting you have a bigger game mode with the assets already in the game, I can't get over just adding a second big guy and doing a game of checkers or chess with the floppy boi's or have a massive horde mode where the big guy has to survive zombies, mutants or robots with the help of a "swat team" of little guys dragons are cool, this game looks like it's going to be a blast on a drinking night, so having an in game way of like "YOU DIED TAKE A DRINK" This also looks like i need a pool noodle to smack other players with. I've got a lot of ideas, but i don't know if it'll work with the tone of the game, but I've got hopes this game's going to be great.
You should add an upgrade where you can buy pets that give you different buffs (dog gives knockback resistance, cat gives speed). They could float around you and block some bullets.
Depending on how many players are in a match, I think the maps need to be easier to navigate. The maps have a really narrow walk ways as majority of the map?
Ideas if you like these ideas please thumbs up it so he sees it: the ideas 1 conveyor belt you can place these on the map and will push the mini plates off the map and the last upgrades are strong wind or launcher 2 stone block it’s basically the thwomps from Mario 3 the slime the slime moves around and when it detects a mini player then it will chase the mini player and if the mini player touches it it will explode and launch the mini player. 4 the clock tower the ground is gears that rotates and the liquid is the void. If you see this please like it so the creator of the game sees this
better wrecking ball ideas, 3 paths, path 1 stage 1 suction cups to grab small guys and fling them to the water, path 1 stage 2 the ball turns into a black hole doing the same thing but it wont need to hit small guys to fling them, path 2 stage 1 the ball is now a fan moving to grab small guys and send them into the water, path 2 stage 2 more powerful fan, path 3 stage 1 when the ball hits someone they get flung into the water like a bumper from pinball, path 3 stage 2 flinging is more powerful.
Love this game, and idea but, can you add local multiplayer? (me personally I think) That would complete the game, I mean, having a game where 2 people play it should have local multiplayer, right? (pls add this I want to be able to play this with my friend who has a mac, there for, he cant play this game)
