Hahah hahaha! Thank you so much for the laughs! Those out takes were AWESOME! Going to work with a smile on my face and I don't have to Crunches this afternoon!! Thanks MAN! 😂
My '91Z already had the pins so all i had to buy was the struts/pistons...$15... your video did show me I had to remove the larger strut so hood could open further... thanks for that! Great vid 👌 👍.
WOW. I have been looking for these parts now for a month. I seen it on some other video's and I said Man I need this on my 91. You just made my life easier Thanks a Bunch
Hey Doulop, awesome video. I had wondered about this as well as I’ve seen them on older C4’s. Looks like an upcoming project. Also love the blooper roll from the super clean
I really enjoy your videos so much that I found a 1991 corvette and bought it. I'm sure after some work it will be great. I hope I run into you at a c4 drive in, in Bowling Green someday!
Hey Miles, awww, that is so great and thanks for letting me know. Does it need much work? I hope you love it. I had a friend ask me to go to Bowling Green in mine someday. I would love to meet you as well! Thanks so much! Take care!
Glad you got it to where you can open your hood without your Dad’s help anymore. 😀 It would have been interesting to see the difference just replacing the prop rod first. I can’t watch mine lift without touching it, but takes little effort to open. Maybe I need a new prop rod?
I actually wanted to do just the pop rod first but decided against it. Not sure why. Sorry man! I don’t know but if you release it and it falls, I would say it needs replaced!
@@Doulop maybe I need to replace the prop rod. It goes up easy with help and doesn’t fall, it won’t go up by itself like yours does now. I’m sure my prop rod is the original. Now I’m mad, it ONLY lasted 30 years. 😀
Don't know if you will see this comment as its 2 months after you made the video... I bought a 1991 vette a month ago and had noticed those same holes on my car... Nice to find out what they were for....
C'mon man. I'm 68 and don't have a problem with mine. I'm in PA too. Its time to get that thing out of hibernation. BTW, I like your videos and am subscribed.
You guys need to move south like I did 1 1/2 yrs ago. I drive year round. I can tolerate snow one day a year. No salt or sand, they just want EVERYONE to stay home.
@@Doulop i am new to vettes, no oil in water, no water in oil. No smoke out of exhaust. Lt 1 pulls like truck. Some smoke in the engine bay. Im still learning. I just got it in janruary. Very clean, solid.i love c4s.i like your vids & dad.
@@Doulop it was super easy, it took maybe 15 minutes. I did it by myself. Thanks to your video it was a piece of cake!! Thank you for these great videos, they really make a difference.
Hello again. Very helpful vidio. Would you please confirm part number for the hardware kit from Mid America. Also would you also confirm the part number from Strong Arm. Appreciate the advice. I am 78 years young and any help lifting the hood of my 1991 C4 with 24,000 miles. Thanks Bobcat
Thanks a lot. Mid America part number for conversion kit is Part #: 609-627. The other ones don’t technically have part numbers because they are on Amazon. I hope you can get them and help your hood be lighter. Thank you very much
When I was shopping for my at C4 last summer, I looked at one with a broken hood corner from opening the hood with a hand on that corner. A body shop told me it was fixable but not cheap. I open it with my hand more towards the middle of the hood, less likely to break off.
@@Doulop I hadn't considered it either until I saw the car. Your video is good, as a properly working strut will help avoid using too much force an snapping off a piece of your hood for an expensive repair!
