Adding A Pocket To A T-Shirt.

to buy a men's shirt with a pocket adds almost $6+ to a t-shirt, so he asked me if I could just add a pocket. he keeps his glasses in his pocket. thanks for the video. I do have a coverstitch machine (Babylock Ovation) but haven't used it in over 2 years. I was concerned about sewing knit fabrics and had thought about just putting a woven pocket on his t-shirt. he said he wasn't fussy. it's just a pocket......... he has talked about making sew-on pockets for years now............ so this should make him happy. I thought about adding vinyl lettering to the pocket before sewing it on that just said - "It's just a pocket". lol and then make it a bit longer so his glasses actually fit in it. most purchased men's t-shirt pockets aren't very deep.

The color of the envelop would have made an amazing color pocket that pops 😊

Hi, thanks for the great video. I was looking for a video to add pockets to my husband's T-shirts. One thing, though, he likes to put his phone in his t-shirt pocket, but the phone is heavy, so it pulls down the whole t-shirt from the neck. Do you know if using some sort of stabilizer on a woven fabric would help this? Cheers!

Definitely love the shirt with the pocket added! Thanks for the great tutorial! I want to do a pocket with a contrasting or coordinating top inch on the pocket for a 4th of July shirt. Allowing for the seam, guess I'd just cut the top 2 inches out of the 2nd fabric, and turn it under 1" after I'd attached the 2" piece to the main pocket? I'm going to try it; I love the look!

Did you attach with an upside down coverstitch? What kind of tag were you referring to? Is it placed above and below the beast?

I would love to know where you buy your fabrics. I feel like when I go to Joann's the fabric feels so crafty instead of wearable. Where do you buy your "T- shirt" fabric? And where do you get your stretchy dress fabric? I guess they are Considered knits. Back in the 90's we called it city knits because it never wrinkled and was easy to throw in a suitcase and go. I'm gabbing to much, sorry! Yourfavorite fabric stores please!
