Hey man, i need one for my audi a3 8v, my car has the RMC unit with no bluetoth or nav button on the center console. Can this still work? I have the pop up screen and everything just no navigation or bluetoth functions

I just ordered this from Amazon for my 2018 Audi Q3 with navigation. The factory installed navigation is terrible. I can’t believe they didn’t put this in standard until the 2019 model. I hope it works! Fingers crossed!
Hi I have same kit and seems to work well. How do you find the phone calls through the original mic and CarPlay. People say it sounds poor and that I sound miles away. Have you got any pics of your phone mic settings. Great vid by the way👍
I have a Audi A3 2015 . I have bought a carlinkit 3.0 kit off Amazon but when it arrived it comes with a usbc to USB adapter and I don’t have any usb slots in my car. It doesn’t register when I use the mmi to USB adapter . The device comes on but stays red and nothing happens on the screen ? Any help would be appreciated on letting me know what I should do
This looks awesome thanks! In your opinion does this install burn any bridges? In other words if the carlinkit doesn't work out for whatever reason is it possible just to simply uninstall it and your right back to where you started with the OEM and without a lot of hassle?
What is the sound quality when listening to music with carplay/Android Auto? Is it like original or do you have a hearable quality loss when listening to music? I am thinking of buying this kit. Thanks for this awesome video!
Enjoyed both your videos on this product. I recently put this in my car which is a year older than yours and same model. Everything works except for the audio. Do you have any suggestions?
We’re you also sent an MMI to Aux adapter? You will need the audio signal to be aux. nothing has to be plugged in from the box to the aux, you just need the adapter to be installed to register an aux port.
From what I understand, if the car already had the aux port you don’t need to plug anything in. The carlinkit system will just use that volume channel for sound
@@TechRoundUpI’m having the same problem, I have the audio source on aux but no sound. Also when I play fm / dab radio there is no sound. Any suggestions?
I’ve a similar kit for my 8V S3 2015 (7” screen). All works well and I’ve an aftermarket back up camera installed too which also works well. The only issue I have is the kit doesn’t automatically connect every time at start up. Do you get this issue? Used your install video to do mine, very helpful
Tech Round Up the seller seems to think it’s because my Apple Watch is paired to my iPhone and there should be no other Bluetooth connection other than the phone to the CarPlay box. Also means that the phone cannot be connected to the Audi MMI
I had no issues with having my Apple Watch paired , but I did unpair and forget my iPhone in the Audi MMI. You won’t really need the MMI connection if using the CarPlay interface
Tech Round Up thanks. I personally don’t think the Apple Watch is the issue. Most likely a software issue with my box. There’s no real need for my phone to be paired with the Audi MMI as you say so I’ve deleted it. When the CarPlay box does connect it works very well.
Thank you for the review. I just purchased it on Amazon for my 2016 Audio S3. Different buy link to ensure comparability with s3. I had a couple of questions that the people in China can't seem to answer due to language barrier. 1. Dos the usb cable connection coming from the video/usb wiring harness provide for wired carplay also have enough Amperage to charge my Iphone 12 when plugged in? I was thinking about installing a surface mount USB extension to the left of the cigarette lighter so I can plug my phone in to charge it while driving. Also, from a stability perspective I could use wired car play so it’s a better experience. Please advise if the USB connect from their box can charge 2. On the USB/Video wiring harness, you have front-view and review yellow coax plugs. Do they need to be connected? I have an OEM car with no aftermarket cameras. The car is equipped with factory sensors and rear camera. 3. Do they come out with firmware updates for it? If so, where do you download and how do you update it?
Great videos! Is this is the exact same procedure for a 2015 Audi s3 pre-facelift? Also whats your advice for someone who doesn't know much about car audios... is it easy enough to install myself based on your videos or is it complex enough to need to pay someone to install? Thanks!
It honestly isn’t that bad, and I had zero experience with doing car audio or multimedia upgrades prior. But if you don’t feel comfortable it’s definitely an option to pay someone to do it for you
Regarding the usb cable from the glove box: is it necessary to make a hole in the glove box? Or can you put the cable beside the box without making a hole?
I have the same Car and this System too and it’s works perfectly, but can someone tell me how can i switch to the Box menu when i‘m already in CarPlay?
@@TechRoundUp S3 can come with both depending on having factory NAV or not. I idon'thave NAV so mine is 5.8. The carlinkit will work with both though. you just need to specify what you have when ordering.
I pulled it back out of the glove box. The unit has: LVDS, hdmi in etc. with no AUX. So I guess I didn’t get an aux plug. The unit doesn’t have a spot for aux plug either. The only spot for Audi interface is in the center console. That has a plug for an iPod. Any more suggestions? I appreciate your time.
Thinking about doing this on my 2016 A3. Does the voice steering wheel control button launch siri? What audi tool did you use to take apart the dash? Echoing prior comments on this a tutorial would be awesome but you probably don't Want to rip. Apart your dash again...
so the kit comes with the audi key to pull out the multi media interface as well as a trim pry to pry away the piece of trim along the door on the side of the glove compartment
Thanks! I actually just installed mine a few weeks back going off your description and some similar non English videos I found on RU-vid. Your video would have been useful but it worked out OK in the end
Tech Round Up does the aux plug into the box. If so bluetooth gets deactivated on my car radio, and would phone have to be connected to unable air play.
The aux does not plug into the box. You just have to plug the aux adapter into the MMI port in the Audi to trick the car into thinking aux is available. The box will then use the aux channel for sound

Do you get sound when playing music or no sound at all? You may need to connect an aux to Audi MMI connector to max aux output available for the carlinkit system to use
@@TechRoundUp Can you break down this answer a little more for me please? My OEM Audi MMI does not have an aux input and is very different from the one in this video above as I have MMI SIM and a third slot. My sound comes on randomly here and there and does not work for bluetooth phone calls or for Siri to read text messages. Can you advise??
Nope, I did the same thing after a year I traded the car in and just unplugged the Carlinkit box and reconnected all the OEM connectors and worked the same as factory
Those are the lcd borders themselves, otherwise if it doesn’t fit the whole screen the switch configuration could be slightly off and be setup for the smaller screen
