Excellent video...I sorta stumbled into this looking for ways to stiffen a bag I'm making that looks very similar to yours...my previous bags were much stiffer thicker leather..but I started sewing my gusset on n realized my bag now is gonna flop...I happened to havethis same material you used happy to know and grateful to know I can use it and that it is indeed intended for this use
There are two common stabilizers that work well with leather…Decovil Light and Decovil Heavy. I use the Light on thin lamb leather. I use Heavy for the bottom of a bag. Both of these products have heat activated application. They can also be glued or sewn in. I use my heat press at 300 degrees for 10 seconds. So far I haven’t burned any leather and the Decovil has been sticking through the end of construction. Joanna has been having very good sales on the product and I just worked my way through two bolts.
Thank you Arthur to teach us all the process and the tips. It's wonderful when you see a video and then you start to make that and you find many problems to resolve that the video doesn't talk about. Not so wonderful 😀. Thanks again.
