Adding LED Lights to UCS Millennium Falcon 

When I added the lights to mine years ago, the strips were not out yet, so I used the LED string lights. lol lots more bulky they are. Great Job Alex.

Just did this mod- I really wanted to light up this set so it looked cool on display, but didn’t want to spend £100 on those led light kits for it as that is way too overpriced. I even had a spare 1 metre led strip coil so used that and pretty much did it the same as you. It looks amazing I love it thanks so much!

Nice work Alex. Have not tried the led's on the spool but going to check it out. Been putting led's from LifeLites in my Lego city buildings, trains and vehicle's for a couple years. Love the effects lighting provides. Love your City, Keep vids comingCary

I did this and thought 1m of led lights would be too short but is actually enough. 2 m would play safe however my set does not have a bright enough blue

Great idea my only concern that leaving batteries in Falcon over time they will degrade and leak

Cool, don’t cut the left over. Just warp it nicely with black tape

Good idea. I'd also use electrical tape to help control bleed through from those lights.

Any links to pick these LED lights up off Amazon?

Have you done LED’s hard wired, without the battery pack? I did some with some small LED’s from Amazon that have USB connectors to feed to a power source.

I wanted to do this but unfortunatly probably cant as the next biggest set I have Built was the 75159 death star which is a big step down and I built the falcon kind of poorly, ill still try to find an easier way

Definitely cut the led strip. But looks fantastic.

Another source for lighting is brickstuff.com. There are ideas for other areas of the Falcon to light up. Great looking Falcon!

which brand of lights did you use? I bought a set that doesn't look as good as yours in the falcon

Have my Falcon built and ready to go on the stand. The only thing I would do differently is I would check the lights before I put everything back together. 99 out of a 100 times you won't have any problems. I always seem to manage getting that 1% fail first. Must be that Murphy guy. I am tore between snipping the excess off and leaving it. Thanks so much for sharing your expertise!

Great tutorial, worked great. I used an extra rechargeable battery pack for my power source that has to be turned on and off, so I couldn't keep mine housed within the Falcon, but I just hide it behind the info plate.

If I can be honest here, that's not what I would've done, it's better to cut and solder these LEDs instead.

I would leave the extra lights. It makes it look like there is power on in the inside. Cool effect.
