Hello ! I see 2 districts so far : 1. A residential and 2. An industrial one. Your elementary school should be in the middle of your residential district. Also add some parks and a few low density commercial and office buildings in your residential district…. Among other things… You can do whatever you want actually, but if you want to plan a functional structured city, you have to follow what the citizens want… It’s not easy but you can disable pollution altogether, in order to use more of some polluting assets freely …

Hey! I plan to expand residences northward (southward?) but yeah I agree, the elementary school should be more central. I'm thinking I'll put it by the high school, since that'll be the new center soon. Good call! And agreed on more workplaces among residences!

Loving the series so far and happy to be on board from the ground up. Re: zoning tool. I see what you did wrong but I’m in agreement about not using it. It’s finicky and I don’t trust that it won’t break all my zones with an update to mod or game. ONLY having snap-to guidelines or sides of objects enabled WHEN NEEDED helps me keep zoning squares predictable and occasional path usage to block takes care of the rest. Great build though!

Dang that's really kind of you to say, thank you! Out of curiosity, what did you see with the zoning tool? Is there any easy way to replace existing roads with different zoning sides?

Yeah you click on the zoning tool button itself. And if there are no buildings in the way (it doesn’t affect zoned buildings already in place) it should eliminate right or left based on the direction the road was originally built. Theoretically. But like I say a lot of times it doesn’t actually work so I just do paths and whackamole now

Does anyone know which setting influences the massive lag/stutter that happens when you get close to the ground/zoom in very near in game?

Hm do you have a timestamp in mind? I'm wondering if it's the auto-save, which literally stops the game for 1-2 seconds haha

@@skilzthatkilz11 ah no it’s not in your videos, i’m asking around for advice or if anyone else is even having the problem. The game runs very well on my machine but it’s just once i zoom into an object/building or really anywhere on the ground that it lags really hard, i think it has something to do with how many polys the assets have/lods, but i just don’t know the exact setting that i need to change. Also i do have the auto save on and yes it does the same thing when auto saving but that’s okay

Gotcha, yeah I guess it's just trial and error with some of graphical settings, see which one is the culprit.
