In this video I am going to show you how I add and acclimatize a new discus to get into my discus tank, in particular a discus fish Alenquer Stendker...
Quarantine is essential, but once I have my quarantine tank serving as a hospital tank for a discu under treatment, I will use a quick quarantine method.
"For this, I will use a product from the DiscusFood brand, which is called Discus Protector. What it does is prevents the risk of infection by new fish of external origin. Fish from different
tanks or systems are carrier of different pathogenic germs. Mixing fish from different origins may
cause the so-called „x-contamination“." Product instructions

Excellent work again my friend, and a great choice of colour fish. Love the Alenquers man😁👍 tanks looking clean af as always. I just reinforced my under floor beams and joists today with concrete blocks in preparation for the 550kg of water it will have bearing down on them very soon 😳😂 greetings from the UK mate😎

@@PSKaqua Its hard to say because i never had any sick discus in my tank. The Only problem i had is that of 6 discus i bought, 2 of them didnt grow as they should. They are still very small compared to the other ones. I think they are stunned....

That all good and dandy but I don’t necessarily feel you have to go through all that to put your discus in that huge tank with more discus. I mean it’s a matter of preference I suppose never the less it’s a good thing. I’m just curious to know how much you paid for that beauty and how big is it?

Hi Adam!!! I don't usually quarantine my discus when I buy them from this store @acasadosdiscus, because I trust the quality and good treatment they have there. I did this because I had had a small problem in the tank before and since it was already solved, I preferred not to risk any more problems. The fish is about 17/18cm and cost 200€.

I have pothos in the aquarium, in the living room and in the kitchen ... 😅😅😅 I love this plant because even I can't kill it. 🤪 It grows very well in my aquarium, it has grown a lot. It uses a lot of nitrates, and is a great help in reducing them, but obviously, the discus make a lot of crap and the pothos won't consume them all. But answering your question, yes they help, but it is not the miracle to end nitrates in the aquarium.

In 80 gallons you can have about 8 discus without a problem. I like to make a ratio of 10 gallons per discu. I would love to be able to see your aquarium when it is ready.

Hi my friend. 1 of my discus havent been eating for more than a month now and the fish is avoiding all the other discus and are not eating. It has lost alot of weight and I put in different types of medication but nothing is helping! I dont have a qurantine tank, but do you think i can use a 10 liter bucket for a few days and put on a heater and an airpump and have like 32C on it and medicate again with warmer water?

@@PSKaqua I think so to. But the medicine that i used against hexamite hasn't help. And I cant have the heather on 32C because i have alot of coryfishes that would die because of the heat. That is why im wondering if i can use a bucket and place the discus there for a few days ? I dont have Facebook, i only have messenger 😑😑

@@cashicashi4904 I would recommend taking a treatment with metronidazole… To do a treatment like that you can't keep the fish in a bucket. At least in a 50 liter container. Can't you buy a plastic box?

Hi Mohammed!!! Yes, in case you get both at the same time you can do to both, as the product will kill all external pathogens from both. The problem may come from possible internal pathogens, which this product does not kill. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Hi Mohammed!!! It's better to do them both, because the product loses its effectiveness at the end of the "fast quarantine" time.

Have enjoyed several of your videos, here only a suggestion. Just get to the reason posted not taking viewers on a road trip, selecting the fish but straight to having it bagged from the store and if this sounds critical consider the following example. Watched a vid on a reife parts build. The guy had to have coffee talking about anythinv but what viewers clicked for, took us out to greet the delivery driver, unbox it and thirty minutes later got to what he should have started with and naturally I gave him a thumb down for wasting time and a terrible review of he purchase, having almost no knowledge of what he as talking about.
