Just FYI always hook up battery first to those charges and make sure that charger can do Lifepo4 so it doesn’t float charge that battery. Nice fun project.
Love these videos and you building out the mountain property. Updates on your systems and successes and failures are great videos. Really would like an update on the composting septic. Thanks!
G'day again from downunder Troy. Nice video, that should suffice for your needs on the shower/toilet block. Is there a way you can fix/chain that battery down to make it harder for an opportunistic thief to steal it. Leaving the solar panel out in summer would tell a thief you have a battery system. Keep up the good work 👍
Are there advantages to running 12V? I have been adding an inverter to each system and using 120v for everything since it allowed me to use a bunch of stuff I had laying around. I know my way adds a failure point, but it seems easier for the wife and kids to use their stuff.
12v is more energy efficient as there isn’t loss in the inversion. Really depends on the length of your wiring runs and what appliances you are trying to operate.
That would work for mid day. The area is so shaded it would still be somewhat dark and I would still need something after dark (late night constitutional)
I'm considering a camplux water heater for my off grid cabin. Are there any issues using one at high altitudes? On most of these type water heaters there is a warning about using above 2000 ft.
Ha, I’m guessing you stay at the local Motel6 when you “camp”. You wouldn’t shower in your own house if you knew what the inside of your pipes looked like. And yes, that’s copper and pex…
