Netrebko a peut etre quelques petits defauts, mais sa presence sur scene, son talent d'actrice,son "charisme", sa beauté,son chant merveilleux donne des tonnes d'emotion a des millions de fans et beaucoup decouvre la beauté de l'opera grace a cette diva, les autres sopranos se contentent de milliers de mellomanes fanatiques de la note ecrite sur le papier, vraiment je les plains.
Straordinaria, assolutamente straordinaria. Un timbro di voce bellissimo unito a capacità espressive uniche. Mi chiedo cosa capiscano di musica (e forse di tutto il resto) tutti quelli che qui scrivono certi acidi commenti.
it's one of the best violetta in traviata modern... she is magnific, superb voice, excellent acting... when i look traviata in DVD with anna netrebko, i cry everytime at this passage...
I think this version of la traviata is wonderful. It's going to be an historical performance. I found the simple decore very beautiful. I don't understand why people are conservative about this.
I completely agree, she's acting as well as singing and the vibrato and slight weakness is a strength to her version as opposed to a weakness. She does this aria wonderfully and credibly.

.I love this perfomrance because it is true to the feelings expressed in the music. What a contrast to her performance in Lucia last year, where she seemed almost to be sleepwalking through the opera.
I love an opulent traditional staging, but when contemporary staging and direction truly serves the music and the libretto (as is also the case with Robert Wilson's Parsifal) I am won over completely - especially here w/ opera's premier duo ! Brava Angela ! Bravo Rolando !
All the critiques below miss the point of Anna Netrebko and what she brings to opera. If you want classic bel canto listen to Caballe, Callas or Fleming. Anna brings a gorgeous Violeta to the stage, with feminine fire, a vulnerability and beauty unmatched. Violetta is a courtesan, people. Not many opera divas could fill that role as convincing and sympathetic as Anna Netrebko. At 2:00 Anna and that oboe, she is poignant and you want to take her in your arms. Lighten up critics. Opera is a wide range of interpretations. The comparisons and “who’s best” are subjective, and are irrelevant. If you want to see the unique and spectacular feminine power she can bring to the opera stage watch her take the audience into the palm of her hand with wit, fun, charm, sex appeal, beautiful of voice and form, and gypsy dancing: Meine Lippen, sie küssen so heiss, Anna Netrebko, live at the proms.
je sais pas quoi dire après tant de conneries certains "pseudo" connaisseurs d'opéra auraient mieux fait de se taire cette version de la traviata est une des plus belles mais rolando et surtout la mise en scène y sont aussi pour un grand quelque chose on n'avait tout simplement jamais vu un couple aussi beau s'aimer aussi vrai. la voix presque parfaite de netrebko est tout de suite oubliée par son jeu et son occupation de la scène (elle n'en sors qu'une trentaine de minutes sur 3h). voila
A DSDV57...pourquoi comparer netrebko a Delunsch, Ciofi, Cotrubas, Callas ou Gheorghiu ????aucunes n'etaient ou sont capables de fairent la performence de Netrebko dans cette traviata.
Me gusta como canta Anna y aprecio su belleza física. No así Villazon, cuya voz y exagerado histrionismo me desagradan. Opino que esta supuesta actualización de la obra, incluyendo momentos de juego un tanto inmaduro , disminuyen el dramatismo romántico que es esencial en la obra.
please stop discussing which soprano is the best. That's not what music is about. Music is about something much much deeper. Especially opera goes very deep. It's really not good and not cool to sit and discuss best actresses and best singers here on youtube. All of these singers have different interpretations so enjoy the variations because that's what music is about - searching inside yourself and feel the music that goes thorugh your ears!

Well, she looks fantastic and she sounds very decent. The problem is that people expect her to sound as good as she looks... and THAT would be off the charts in the opera world. I do agree with your comments 2 and 4. Visually it is stunning, but is this La Traviata?
At least she is a believable Violetta - a woman, who men would PAY to sleep with. No man would pay to sleep with ladies who look like Callas, Caballe, Sutherland and company -They do sound damn good though. At the end of the day, it's a toss up. If you don't like her, don't listen to her.

If you want bel canto perfection listen to Montserrat Caballe; if you want a stunning girl with a silvery, operatic vocal delivery and physical beauty, it’s Anna Netrebko!

C'est fou ce qu'il peut y avoir de minus mysogines, aigris, haineux, médiocres, tarés qui sont incapables de reconnaître la beauté et le talent, justement parce que cela les dépasse de cent coudées et que tout ce qu'ils ont à opposer à d'aussi merveilleux interprètes, c'est le dénigrement imbécile et gratuit. Vraiment pitoyable et pathétique ! Je pense notamment à ce Thugman, qui doit être un inverti impuissant se défoulant sur son clavier pour oublier sa nullité.
Netrebko isn't a belcanto singer, her sound isn't sparkling, her diction is bad, i think it's because of russian vocal school where the aim of studying is a solid, opened sound, where they don't pay much attention to the language, especially foreign, that's why i can't distinguish words when Anna sings italian arias, her vowels are russian not italian, in my opinion it doesn't suit italian opera. I think her acting in Traviata is great & visually she's a perfect Violetta.
Erm...singers have managed to convey Violetta's illness WITHOUT gasping for breath. (Netrebko's legato line has always been choppy and she always breathes at the wrong places) Listen to Callas, Ponselle, Zeani, Cotrubas...none of them needed such artificial tricks.
