How do you see this technology impacting traditional manufacturing methods for complex parts in your industry?

What kind of dimensional accuracy can be achieved? My company has a need for several multi part assemblies at 100 units per month. We are looking at possible solutions; 5a, robot arms, etc. however, this technology may be at a point we can use it instead and I’m curious to learn more.

If the chamber swaps and material swaps could be automated, as well as the parting-off from the build base, I could see this taking off quite a bit more. The machine has a model of the item it's fabricating, so it should know "where" in the chamber the parts are and what volume is metal powder - this should be possible to fed into an automated metal powder reclamation robot in the chamber to do away with the glove-box operation. The target I see for this would need the ability to expedite the setups and get the parts through cleaning and inspection (visual metrology scanning and X-ray), before loading into final machining stages. The fewer human hands that have to touch that, the better.
