Governments have announced new programs, policies, and funding over the last twelve months to accelerate the supply of housing. With a growing pipeline of approved housing units to be constructed across the country and a ten-year target of 3.87 million net new homes, Canada's current and impending gap in skilled trades becomes more real. With over 700,000 licensed trades expected to retire by 2028, the time is now to ensure the current and next wave of workers are being introduced to a rewarding career in the skilled trades.
