Addressing Superannuation Anxiety: I Don't Think I Have Enough for My Age 

I love having my index fund within Super. Long term play, tax benefits. Peace of mind having a good balance. I don't see it as a negative not having access until 60, eg say I am 52, I can afford 6 months off to travel Europe knowing I have loaded up my super.

And what your housing ownership status is makes a big difference. Aren't those comfortable/modest figures based on owning your home when you retire?

What people really need to do is work out what number they need to live their life. I’m 47 with a wife two kids, a house etc and I spend no where near 4% of 2mil when not paying my kids school, mortgage etc. Based on what I spend 2mil would last 40 years drawing directly from it without it making anything in interest, that puts me at 105 before I’d run out, average life expectancy is around 84 in Australia…

Quick tip , put the recent tax cut into your super before tax.

These guys are funny. Less than 1% of Australians have 2MM in theis super, or anything close to that.
