We don’t want another tkachuk situation where we have old overpaid players preventing us from paying our stars. IMO we can only afford to have one of huberdeau or kadri and I doubt we move huberdeau.
I'd be surprised if he was moved... unless it was to Colorado or maybe Toronto. From what I've heard he likes it in Calgary and is onboard with getting the team going in the right direction again.
I think Kadri is the perfect player to help Calgary hit the cap floor over the next few seasons and mentor the young guys. There’s no reason to get rid of him unless he genuinely does not want to play in the organization anymore
I'd imagine teams like Pittsburgh or Washington could be good trade targets with Kadri no? His cap hit isn't bad right now for what he does and when it becomes a problem their stars will be gone and money won't really be a problem anyways imo
This is the easiest Flames trade to be made.. I know three teams who would take him now and his contract no questions asked.. Kadri likes the city of Calgary and it will be his call and no one elses.. If Kadri goes to Connie and says trade me it will ve handled 💯 professionaly Flames will win and whoever gets Kadri will win.. The only problem is Flames are very very thin at center.. Sharangovich and Pospisil will both be given the opportunity to play center in training camp
@@scottyjc the three teams that are serious about him are Toronto, Boston and Colorado and I've also heard Stevie Y in Detroit is interested.. all feelers right now as Kadri is happy and will call the shots when it comes to be traded.. I know Conroy wants him to stay and loves the work he's done for Popisil, Zary and Corranato.
If you were to trade him wait until the trade deadline. This would give you the opportunity to not only see how he leads the young team but also see how he reacts to his new role. But the big reason is that he has the best value at the deadline for a team that would trade the future to win now. And that is what the flames need to look for and what kadri looks for.
I would imagine unless you're super young every single flame is up for grabs. Make a business case, make a sweet trade offer to Connie and all the vets could be gone.
Unless you and the ownership have said, I'm gonna help train up all the little kids. Even then, if a decent team makes a decent offer? Bye. Not a partial rebuild. It's full on.
Salary retention would be a must which is no problem for the flames. He wants to contend. I see him asking to leave, my guess is Pittsburgh, Toronto or Colorado
If Buffalo wants to actually try for the playoffs, then Kadri would work there. Utah is another team that could easily make a run at Ras AND Kadri which could push them into the playoffs. Also would like Kadri improving Seattle, as well. Adding Chandler Stephenson and Kadri would give them a top 4 centers that is imposing.
Huberdeau is the key. His last year with the Panthers he had 115 pts in 80 games. If you keep Kadri around, maybe he can help get Huberdeau to 75pts in 80 games, at which point you may be able to move him with half retention. Then tear the whole thing down.
I think its just media and and fans trying to stir things up saying these things. If he gets dealt, it would more likely be at the deadline than over the summer, especially with 5 years on his contract. Personally speaking Id like to see him stay here; he has a chance to be a leader, and to continue to show he can be productive. The flames are never going to tank, the owners are too afraid of losing the fan base, so try try and 'look' competitive they have to have some guys like Kadri on the roster.
Why can’t they make the money work? Retention. For better return. Eat the salary for tree’s mistakes. We’re on a good track with the draft. Let’s follow the plan and believe instead of pondering logistics
