I want to correct you on Eugene's age it was stated in the Tangled series which takes place 2 years after Tangled he was 26 making him 24 in Tangled and they got married when Rapunzel was 20 in Ever After. I highly recommend watching the Tangled Series if you haven't already.
@@flamestormthecat2833 if you look up how old Eugene is in Tangled on Google it says 26 only when you look up Series it says he's 26 there, also yes he had a melt down that he was aging though I recall him saying he thought he was 25 in the series
Yeah, usually age gaps are 2 or 3 tops. I think most people agree anything past 3 years is considered weird when it comes to a teenager being a legal adult while dating someone whos still a teen. Its kind of odd to pin down what is considered weird or not though, so I don't know
dude why for you guys everybody under 18 is a kid when science proof that the brain just full mature after the 25 years age? you know that biologically there's a huge diference between a teen and a child right? and that this 18 years stuff is just a recent thing created for the usa for send teenagers to war right?
Actually at the Walt Disney family Museum they said that Snow White was supposed to look old enough to get married. I don't know where the paedophilia rumor came from
The Prince from Snow White (Florian) isn't 31. You just Googled that, didn't you? It's a rumour spread by someone and it exploded, so now everyone thinks it's factual. You google up the age and it shows 31. But Prince Florian's age has never been confirmed by Disney. He doesn't even look like 31?? He looks 16-17 in my opinion. This rumor annoys me so much 😅 And there is also no official statement about Snow White's age being 14. There are only few characters whose ages are 100% confirmed. For example Ariel's and Rapunzel's, because they state their ages in their films. I just really wish people would stop taking quick Google results as confirmation and facts, because this is ridiculous.
honestly, some things in this video just seem to be rage source and false info. MANY characters' age was never confirmed, nor mentioned officially. but even if it was in Snow white..people do realize that it was an entirely different era back then, right? people frickin died at age 35 hundreds of years ago....
For 1, mulan and Shang are only 3 years apart which is kinda what I expect most relationships to be gaped, the weird thing is that she got married which I didn’t think about until writing this comment. My thought of age gaps are if a person is 6/7 years from their partner I think is fine but over that gets a little weird
thats, I not kidding, because of the pilgrims and puritans morality, the puritans conssider age gaps sinfull so they forces this moral standard into USA society, in most countrys of the world nobody cares about age gaps if both of they are adults, my father is 14 years older than my mother and my grandpa was 9 years older than my grandmother and my best friend parents are 9 years of diference either in most countrys this is normal but in the usa the protestant moralism made you think this way just search about it
Are we not going to talk about how in Tuck Everlasting, TEN YEAR OLD WINNIE HAS A CRUSH ON 104 YEAR OLD MAN 💀💀💀 (ik tuck everlasting is old sry but uhhh i had to point it out)
personally, age gaps aren't an issue for me, with one exception. WHEN ONE OF THE PEOPLE IN THE RELATIONSHIP IS A MINOR AND THE OTHER IS AN ADULT!!! That's where I draw the line.
But if they’re both minors and one is years younger, it’s still weird, like a 16yo and a 10yo. Also imo even if they’re both over 18, it’s still weird cuz just because it might be legal, doesn’t mean it’s morally right, like a 19 and a 38 year old. It reminds me of one episode from “bojack the horseman" where it shows that just because someone is legal age, doesn't mean it's right. That was what that plot in series was trying to show. Not saying you have to agree, just putting it out there.
@@starchildofthesun oh i see, I still think the legal age in most countries should be higher, I agree young kids should stay away from that altogether.
That's because 18 being an age of consent is a fairly recent thing, In Mediaeval times, you could marry as early as you hit puberty. We feel these films are creepy because we grew up in a completely different age than the original stories. That's what they are, just stories, don't read much into it.
I think a big reason the ages are neglected is because we don’t know their age. We can only go off the appearance of the characters. Most people don’t look up the ages of characters. The only time we would know their age is if it was stated in the movie or show.
about Eugene and Rapunzel. Thing is, while Eugene is indeed 26 years old as of the final season of Tangled the series, the series also confirms he believed he was 3 years younger, so 23, due to having lived on his own for the majority of his life, with no reference as to how old he was when he started living on his own. And that is ignoring the fact that he actually was 23 in the movie. So he would have believed he was 20 when he met Rapunzel.
I remember back when i was in high school one of my female friend kept bragging that she was dating a guy in his 30s(many of the female students were bragging they were dating older guys... I think most of them were lying) not sure if they are still together or if she was lying.
For Mulan and Shanghai 3 years works under Romeo and Juliet laws. And it is highly speculated that Snow White is 14 and the prince is 31 but the animators wanted to make her look old enough to get married and I don't know where the age gap rumor came from
dude the prince is just 16 the oficial disney manual say it and dude THEY ARE IN OLD CHINA in china specially in old times there's not this romeo and juliet thing and even this under and above age thing this stuff is just 50 years old! and is just bullshit in my opinion
and on top of this, Eugene was 26 when they married, not when they met. Also, it's canon that Eugene believes he's 3 years younger then he actually is, up until his long-lost dad tells him "bruh, you're turning 26 this year."
Honestly, I forgot that Lori did that in the loud house. I was gonna say a kid having a crush on someone older than them. It's not that big of a problem. We all probably had crushes on someone. That was a lot older than us.
Ooh, 31 years guy??? This prince. The theory is that the dwarfs saved Snow White, not the prince. There is also the whole child arranged marriages. The 16 year olds now. 😂
My mom was 17 when she got married to my dad, in fact she got married on her 18th birthday, and you wanna know how old my dad was?………………26 I don’t get it, to him isn’t it like marrying a child? Also, I just realized it’s the same age gap as rapunzel and eugine, this is so WEIRD
to the commenters, and most ppl on twitter(usually that's where these dramas start from), once someone turns 18, they magically become full grown adult. before that they're super minors with 0 interest in adult topics,or anything connected to adulthood. they just magically ignore the fact that puberty IS a thing, many teens around age 14-15 aren't even virgins and already around 13 yo, SOME watch THOSE kind of videos on those sites. but nooo, 18 is a magical number aha. I disagree with many things I mentioned above and I'm so glad my childhood wasn't ruined by the internet. what currently can happen just with an innocent search in google, is nonsense. also. different cultures. different era. Hercules, Mulan and Snow white cannot even be compared to today's culture ANYWHERE. 90% of the commenters with the video creator himself just forgot this. I can't wait to see their faces when they read Faust for example (they won't) 🤣 this topic is so damn subjective and even irl, it varies SOOO badly. and yet people generalize the whole thing. this is what is upsetting.
I mean in tanged Eugene belived he was 23, but he was 24. In the end of the series he was 26 ( he discovered that he was a year older than he tought in the last season)
Tbf in ancient times kids were legally adults by 12-15 years old and boys a year later. Most girls during that time married at 15-16 and sometimes younger.
You think the 3 year age gap of 16 and 19 is problematic? And you think there’s an issue with a 13 yr old girl having a crush on adult boy band pop stars?
Ok Mulan and Shang age gap is that not big, it is just three years, like it understandable, like atleast he not 29 and she 16 lol 💀, but keep up the good work Calobi
Yeah honestly 2 year age gaps are no where near wrong. I think 2-3 is fine, but usually 4 years is where people draw the line, which is very reasonable
my aunts and unlces got married on a 10 year age gap my aunt is 57 my uncle just turned 62 my other aunt got married at 17 to a 27 year old they have 3 adult kids and their happily married Back in medieval times 13 was considered getting too old to get married In victorian times an unmarried woman of 30 was called a spinster
did you know that Shrek is 108 years old in the first Shrek movie, making an 86 year age gap between him and Fiona, who's supposed to be 22? Nov 10, 2016
In my eyes, if two people fall in love with each other - mutually, and we're talking about feelings of romantic love here - they should be allowed to be together. Some soulmates do have large age gaps, it happens. It's understandable that people who wouldn't date outside of their age (or close to it) find that weird, but well, you are not them. Only they really experience and know why they're falling for each other. This whole thing where society tries to tell individuals who to date based on their expectations is what is weird to me. Let lovers be happy.
Jordan is likley 11-14 if you listen to his voice. And I can back up the fact he could be 14, seeing as puberty didn't hit my voice till I was a freshman.
Honestly? The Mulan-Shang age gap isn't bothersome to me, like, at all :p They're close enough that it makes perfect sense, and the dude is barely an adult himself (by the legal standards of most western countries). You ask me, nothing wrong with a 19 yo dude finding a 16 yo girl attractive, but they might want to take things slow (which, honestly, most couples should), just to be safe
200th comment I guess; I had 0 clue about 90% of the characters ages until this video. many classics were part of my childhood. and I come from a culture that has NEVER paid this much attention towards age gaps. or age in general above 18. shit, I can say irl examples of a 30+ woman and a 70+ director getting married and living together (obviously the guy was rich) once people put their leg out to real life, they'll shockingly discover that the WILDEST age gaps are generated by life itself. THEY HAPPEN IRL. I'm not sure, WHY is everyone insane about it now, as if it was something new. people thrraten others if they like pairs in Mulan or Hercules or idk. above 18, most cultures don't give a flying shit about anything. 19 and 26 is a totally normal age gap for many cultures. plus don't forget that some of these movies took place in an ENTIRELY different era and culture. like omg, not everyone is as hypersensitive as the west. people actually live their own lives without getting into others' business. what would be more acceptable to whoever is reading this comment and is ready to write an angry reply just because I don't live in the western culture and I'm not throwing a tantrum. option A: both 20 year olds, but one abuses another in a relationship. or option B: there is an age gap, people are 23 and 34 years old BUT they support each other til the end. everyone's case is totally subjective. think again. but the Loud house one disgusts me so badly bruh.
@@elderjose9662 I am a protestant like my whole family. No one cares about the age gap my grandparents have an age gap of 7 years. What are you smoking?
Trying to apply today's logic to some of the examples here is totally stupid, different times, different values. What we find common in actuality would be outrageous back then, an age gap really doesn't hold that much weight if you compare to things that want and have normalized today, like same gender marriage or letting same gender parents adopt children, the second to last case you presented which was Hercules, he was 18 years old, this adaptation stripped his godhood when he was an infant as per Hades plan, and even though he was a demigod, he aged just like a regular human would, he wouldn't be on the hundred years range. On the most accepted lore he was older than princess Megara even.
0:36 from i understand there is no evidence the prince is 31 according to someone who at least cliams to have taken a Disney history class in college and they had access to the scripts. He was supposed to be about 16 1:42 pretty sure a 3 year age gap is a medevial story is not eyebat worthy
I know this isn’t legally wrong. But it still feels wrong the more you think about it. It’s like if I ended up dating someone who use to be in kindergarten when I was in 7th grade.
