Nice comparison. Would have been good to hear observations regarding fit between the two. For example, the TLB looks to have more room in the toe box. How is the width, instep, etc. I know everyone’s foot is different, but you have so many pairs that it would seem like you would be in a position to comment on fit attributes. Just my $.02
It’s the sole, the lasts and imo it’s also the quality of the leather. The two mainline shoes I’ve ordered were not available in the Artista range which is why I bought them. I’ve been very pleased with the main line though. I think it’s closer to Carmina and the Artista line is closer to the hand grade brands.
Sizing question. Looking at the 110 Artista Picasso. Says it comes in a F width. I'm a UK 8. The Elton last with Meermin comes in an E width. Fits very well. Could you compare the 2? In your opinion would I need to make any size adjustments?
It’s not in my plans today. I’m not really into loafers and while i picked up some summer ones recently for shorts, candidly I rarely wear combinations and prefer lace ups with suits. Sorry.
I saw your recent loafer reviews and thought I might buy a pair from TLB to wear indoors and as you shorts. Usually wear Derby’s and I managed to get TLB to make me a pair In Width size H. Most comfortable shoes since 1969 when I bought a pair of Church’s in Piccadilly arcade for £19. Shop not there anymore and I think the price might be a little higher now.
I would assume they are. You can still get some Church’s in H, I’ve seen that on Herring. I’ll keep you updated if I change my mind on loafers. I have three pair now and feel like that’s enough for the summer but as we all know the winds change direction! Best regards... JS
Wi Shoeguy yes three pairs is ample for now. Yes I have seen church’s in width H but only in Oxfords which for my high instep can be painful. Please keep up your very informative chats.
