They made DDP fight 3 times in 7 months and then gave him 6 weeks to train for Izzy after beating Whitaker, but the UFC is mad at him.

I watched Javier Mendez and Firaz Zahabi talking about Sean's win, they talked more about Izzy's status as the GOAT of MW than Sean's amazing performance. Zahabi even praised Izzy for his class act for raising Sean's hand. I understand the MSM's agenda in covering for Izzy but what happened to these legendary coaches sucking up to Izzy? When comes to talking about Colby they always bashed him for his heel character and never gave him an ounce of credit for his fighting capability but it's ok for Izzy to insult his opponents after finishing em and race bait future opponent in front of millions watching.

Kamaru was actually very fair towards strickland in his interviews about the fight. He said that Izzy got shut down by Strickland's tricky style. When asked about his (super dominant) win on Strickland he basically shut it down and said theyre both completely different and much improved fighters Gotta give usman props for being fair especially given hes a loyal izzy friend

I do agree that Izzy should take time off, but not because the “activity got to him.” But because he’s been completely exposed. To have every hole in your stand up exposed like that, you need to take time off to try and fix those issues. It will be good to let the division play out without him and come back sometime summer next year. A quick turn around would not be good after a brutal exposing like that.

whats funny is Strickland has fought more and more recently than Izzy. Then when you tell them that, they say "but its the mental stress of being champ and doing champ stuff"... ok. 11 3 round fights isn't the same as 11 5 round fights. The camps are even different. You can ask fighters how much harder a 5 round camp is then a 3 round. Most Champs only fight 1 maybe 2 times a year so izzy does have a very active schedule.

When DDP turned it down due to injury, Stricknine was the last guy everyone figured who'd get the next shot, and he was the biggest underdog ever.
