Hey Jeff, I'm Male, age 41, diagnosed at 39, started using cannabis age 30 or 31 after I got bored of alcohol. I was able to mask most of my symptoms till I broke down and then got diagnosed. It's been a long climb to recover and adjust. Cannabis has been useful in preventing my mood and thoughts from sliding down the doom spiral. I think of it like putting the cluthc in. My thoughts start racing toward bad ideas and cannabis helps me shift out of that gear and into a less destructive one. Having said that, those interventions that I would describe as medicinal account for maybe 10% of my useage. I don't want to use cannabis indefinietly, but I'm still at the point where it's often the only thing that feels rewarding. I'm on medication so I don't drink alcohol, and sobriety is just. So. Boring.
Thank you for your respectful post. What i like about it... is that you have awareness and are trying to figure things out with somewhat of an open mind. Thanks for sharing your experience.
It boils down to moderation of use. Once a week is probably safe but more will have negative consequences in the long run. ADHD and THC are not a good combination imho. Adding a medication into the mix makes it worse.
i take dronabinol twice daily to help with severely painful nausea from autonomic neuropathy and also have adhd. I never noticed any changes with adhd when I take it.
I find cannabis now and again good for meditation and it makes you think it wont cure adhd but it can give you a break from beating youself up over it! Cannabis allegedly can cause psychosis but when i had psychosis off precription drugs it was the only thing that pulled me out! I dont use cannabis much now after taking DMT i now trip off cannabis and i have found a link to ADHD dmt and Cannabis causing low tolerance and a psychadelic effect off cannabis.
Excellently presented! My experience with marijuana is as described, short term is a godsend, but once the body builds resistance from long term use, it is counterintuitive.
I'm not educated enough to really comment. I understand it can help with memory issues. Thing is if you working memory is preforming at the 20% and it takes you to the 40% that is 2 x the improvement. That said, you would still be below average. My point is it could possibly help but i'm not sure it alone is all you need. thanks for posting the question.
