Thanks for this review! I know it's a relatively new shoe and a lot of folks don't buy Adidas trail offerings, so this was useful. I'm training for my first 50K in the Santa Monica mountains, and have been training for my long runs with the Brooks Caldera 7. But over the last few months, as I've advanced, I've found the Caldera to be a bit cumbersome. If you don't think this is right for long trail runs or a 50K, do you have any recommendations that are a little lighter?

You’re welcome! The Cascadia 17 is a great shoe if you want to stick with Brooks. Otherwise you should consider the Hoka Speedgoat 5. Version 6 is out ina couple of months but it’s not as breathable as V5, which I think will be benefits in the SM mountains. Thanks for the review! These are on sale for $60 and the Agravic Speed for $55. Which one would you recommend for someone who never ran trails and looking for a hybrid kinda shoe for traveling and running on both roads and trails?

Thanks for the review! I'd say vibram got nothing to do against continental, specially in wet conditions. My standar session consists in 10k/1000m+ of mountain rocky terrain and i've tested any kind of sole... What about technical terrain? How do they perform? I have a pair of soulstride flow (whitout the combo light bost/light strike) and i was surprised over this kind of terrain... Greets from spain!

Definitely, I’ve been wearing my pair for general use and also hiking because I like how they look, they’re stable, and have fantastic traction.

Credit to you for creating content however, I' m struggling to see how you can give a quality review after\ during 1 run? It takes a good 50 miles to form a balanced opinion regards a shoes performance.

Well, when you’ve tested and reviewed as many shoes as I have over the last 10 years, experience is everything. Sometimes I know after one highly varied (in terrain and in vert gain/loss) 10k trail run, sometimes a shoe needs longer for me to form an opinion. I determine that after my first run along my test route.

I used to wear size 40 2/3 comfortably and slightly loosely. In the case of these running shoes, is it better to buy the same size or is it better to wear one size smaller to be fit? I will wear it for daily and running.
