Very impressed that such a young man is in charge of the day to day repairs all over the farm. The future is very bright for your farm Jon!! You're doing a GREAT job.
It was because of the cow brush that Eric @ 10th Generation Dairyman In Pennsylvania has a video of installing that I started watching him. I grew up on a dairy farm and thought our cows would have loved the brushes. It is obvious that your cows love and used them a lot.
I saw where all the cows were supervising to make sure you did the job right, and I would be petting the cows too . Love your vlogs a city neighbour to the west, farm girls at heart, city slicker now,
Your cows really like your hired men! The one just stood there while Dima was petting her and in a previous video you filmed that one cow that always follows your other hired man wherever he goes in the free stall barn!! 👍
If you haven’t heard, Jan sister has a RU-vid channel called A Dairy on the Prairie. She’s really quite good at filming and the content and quality is great.
Wedging in more "seats", just like Air Canada/United/Delta/American/etc/etc. Ha! You guys did a much faster job of this than I'd thought at first. Good job!
I have only recently found your channel via hoof gp. I am really impressed by the work ethic shown and the amount of care shown for your stock. Just a couple of questions, did you go to college to learn all about heard management and vet care , such as vaccinations, AI your cows etc. You are extremely knowledgeable for a 21 year old. 👍👍👍
Might want to check that the spindle isn’t gummed up on the fan. If it is then the motor may not have enough power to start the blades moving. If left on without the blades actually spinning it could burn the motor out or worse. Sometimes if a fan is down it just needs a quick jump start or spin in this case.
I hope you'll show us what the fan problem ended up being! I think I'd kill the circuit, open the motor connections, re-energize, then test for voltage at the fan. then work back toward the panel. but if you have a dealer to call, their advice seems definitely worth getting! Thanks for the video!!
Hi I have a suggestion you should buy the cow brushes that have the rings so then the middle ones can go on the outside and the outside one in the middle on my dairy farm that’s what we have and it saves a lot more money and you get a lot more use out of the brushes
Mostly, and I do not kid you, a push with a little stick (back of a broom or such) and the fan should turn on but.. it could be that the motor underneath it has burned out during the fan breaking and got stuck in the mix. Or simple wear and tear.. (hopefully it is not written wrong, my English is capital B! 👀😶😊 Edit; indeed, some say thermal override and yep, could be it too.
Hello Jan & Thank you for your interesting dairy videos. If the NUHN Pump "seal" { is Not a " lip seal, " }, I Can understand why it would leak after time. ) - : My family milked 42 holsteins, in stanchions back in the 60's, Tim.
Hello I have one question for you, did you ever have cows that had extra teats with milk coming out of them. And if yes did you need to remove it, or do something else?
There’s nothing like a day of hard work to keep the whole body in synch - a good appetite and solid sleep. I’m pretty sure the problem with our world could be cured by more people putting in a full day’s physical labor.
Maybe cynical of me but your great fan dealer should already know what to tell you about the proper reset procedure for swapping out a broken blade. As others have said, the fan motor likely went into thermal protection shut down when that blade broke free.
I don't think so. Didn't he say the fan was still running, vibrating like crazy in a previous video, and that he shut off the switch near it to shut it down?
@@timothymbonham4453 Still possible though - the fan running, even in distress, *might have* kept the sensor just cool enough then as soon as you kill the power and that cooling effect is lost, the residual overheat keeps climbing enough to trigger a thermal fuse. Something similar happened to my folks' gas furnace right after it was cleaned & serviced by one of those Seasonal-Special crews. They had to pay the manufacturer's tech to come out and replace the fried thermocoupler because the cowboys hadn't followed a correct (safe) service sequence. They should have known better.
Jon backs up as poor Deama takes manure line apart (what a good co-worker you are Jon) bahahahahaha -- looks like you will have to take a scrub brush at the poopy wall
It's weird you move them closer and the 10th generation was moving the outward. Or just installed ones that move because the cows were to big for the beds
Jan if you would quit using the brushes to scratch your back they would last longer lol. (TIKTOK) Did you ever find the blade that broke off. This was a really fun and interesting video, thanks till next time.
Will the cows stay warmer being closer together? Do the brushes go in on both ends or just the one end if it did turn upside down the brush could turn the opposite way get more use out of the brush. TIP: Dawn Platinum Advanced Power dish soap will clean anything. If it can clean my dirty oven it would wash that cow poo off those walls if you ever need to do that. But try it it’s good stuff. I think it’s safe for animals they use it to clean grease cover ducklings.
