Great review. The rank badge issue was discussed in depth on the SWTVC podcast. All the officers in ROTJ reverted back to the captain rank badges, basically all the officers are incorrect in ROTJ. The Imperial officer 4-pack has Admiral Piett with the correct ESB Admiral rank badge (and code cylinders).
“Yes” and “no.” Veers is there when Vader opens the chamber before the Hoth battle, but Piett walks in later in the movie when the chamber is partially open already revealing Vader’s damaged head underneath his helmet.
I hope they do Tarkin soon. I wonder if the green dilemma is like what happened with Skeletor and a Superman villain whose real life costumes were reddish but on screen looked completely black (on that note I had always believed that Luke's cloak from RotJ was black, up until the TVC release)
It would have been nice if the entire upper torso panel was interchangeable and they included a spare with his admiral rank badge and extra code cylinders. The hat is definitely too large.
What i couldnt figure out when i was a 11 12 years old in in 1982ish s why there was never a tarkin action figure. Couldnt they use peter cushings likness. thats the only thing i can think off.
I’ve heard that since he was an old man and never had any fight scenes (never shot at anyone etc.) that he was deemed too boring to make a toy of (probably by Kenner or Lucasfilm executives). I imagine if the 1985 POTF line had continued he’d have been made.
Couldn’t agree more, torso splits look terrible and the giant hat looks equally bad. Why does Hasbro even make a removable hat for a character that is never seen without his hat? 🤔
No idea what their logic was….maybe an extra part is cheaper than aligning an extra paint AP? Maybe they’re thinking people will buy multiples and do lots of head swaps?
