awww gutted, sorry it didn't work for you. It only works some of the time it seems, as the fault can be caused by a number of things. Have you tried exporting with CUDA off? (not ideal, and doesn't always fix...) Also try exporting straight from Premiere and via Media Encoder, too....

That's okay, the CUDA off tip really work,take forever to export, but i finally got my job done.Another thing that work on my tests was put the Lumetri Effect in a adjustment layer above the video layer that allow you to export with the CUDA .

I get that Adobe makes a killing selling monthly software subscriptions and the promise of constant updates helps to justify this. But WHY am I paying a monthly premium to get a different set of bugs every single update? Why not aspire to create a piece of software that is relatively stable? End rant. Thanks for the advice!

Bro, exactly, I didn't have all those issues before, the level of head scratching and frustration I had in 2022 with this soft! I had to by a different drive to isolate all my work softs so I give it the least bugging potential, and it still hits the wall here and there, would I be on garbage hardware I'd understand but it's not even the case, so insanely annoying. It's either less bugs, or less features, so frustrating.

Have the same problem, tried to export via PPro and Media Encoder but nothing worked, also tried CPU or GPU, but in my case the problem are the transitions not the lumetri?

I've tried them all and nothing worked for me until I switched the project settings to software only and it did work! Sometimes Premiere can be a real pain in the ass

I could not get my video for my channel to export for nothing. I did what you said and created another sequence. Then I also changed the format to DSLR 30FPS and it finally worked. I'm not sure which change worked but thanks for making this video!

Hey guys, it looks like this bug is my nemesis So I got this big project with 1 hour and exporting only with sofftware is not ideal. Any news on that? Is it still a problem in Premiere Pro 2018? Is this a PrProCC 2017 project if I have compatibility issues? Please answer me, I need to solve this thing.

I cut out the part of the clip that was giving me trouble then extended the clip back out. I also nested everything then saved it and closed premiere pro then reopened it and saved it to desktop instead of in documents and it worked for me.

This solution didn't work for me. What did though was removing the clips in the trouble spot and replacing them (with the same clip) then overlaying the grade and it exported no problem.

I finally found the solution that works for me and made it possible to finish my project, FINALLY. For 2 weeks straight I have tried every single thing that everyone has suggested, but nobody told me this.. TURN OFF YOUR MONITOR. If you’re using a laptop and you plugged an external monitor to it, then pull out the plug and just use your laptop screen. Same for desktop. Hit “export” and then unplug your monitor. I guess you graphics card has more computing power for rendering this way. Let me know if it worked for you!

I had a transform effect on. Took it off and just used the video's scaling and position options instead of the transform's. Fixed the problem for me.

I solved the problem by looking at what effects I was using on the clips where the rendering would stop: most of the times the problem was Warp Stabilizer. I simply deleted the effect from those few clips.

Oddly, creating new sequence works. ?? And I'm sure I'm using a newer version (v14, build 572). I know there's a newer version already, but don't want to upgrade when I'm in middle of project. Thx for the workaround.

tHANK YOU AGAIN...I HAVE a quick question though. When i copy and pasted my footage from the original sequence into the " Attempt " sequence. I had to render almost the entire video again...what does that mean out of curiosity . ??? when you copy and pasted yours it looked the same. thank you .

Yeah Premiere can be annoyingly inconsistent when it comes to considering footage on your timeline as being rendered or not... but in this case I'd say having to render everything again is probably a good thing as it may be re-done the bit causing the problems! Glad you got it sorted :)

For all hard-working filmmakers who have this issue still in 2020: I get an error for only software rendering as well. For me the solution was to search the areas which are leading to problems in the rendering process. Mostly the problems were complex transitions or effects. My solution: 1. Save your file with a new name and delete these transitions or areas which lead to problems. (Dont delete the basic clips --> you need to have a basic clip for later, you just can delete transitions or effects, with that I mean elements which are attached onto your clip etc.) 2. Render the "new" file without these effects. 3. Import the rendered file into your old project and copy the problematic effects onto the full rendered clip. (You may have to cut it or nest it etc., so the effect applies) 4. Render the already rendered clip with the old effects attached on it. I hope I could help you, for me this solution works nearly every time.

@@SwitchedOnNetwork Google search. I never encountered the problem before. Updating drivers didn't help. The only solution I could find on the forums was "turn off GPU acceleration" then I found your video which actually offered a real solution. Thanks again.

What if this doesn't work and moving sequence into a new project doesn't work either, I've also tried to detect the issue in the sequence by rendering sections the timecode it gives me that has the issue doesn't contain any image or audio its after the film has ended, I've been able to export this before multiple times , I've also please help!!!

If all else fails, try turning CUDA off and using just your CPU. Not ideal by any means, but it may allow you to export eventually and get the project delivered!

So yes, this workaround is working, but having an RTX 2080 Ti in the computer and not being able to use it for rendering make me sad. I did manage to solve my issue using a fresh new installation, cleaned cache folders, and brand new projects with exactly the same files/effects but everything done on new projects, not old. Will produce a video on my RU-vid channel to share this story.

Yes, I share your frustration! I have a GTX1080 which I can use most of the time, but now and again stuff like this crops up. Fortunately I've been fairly OK recently on this error, but annoying to see it still persists - as can be seen by the views this old video still gets! This helped me: delete all render files in work area, after this, open sequence settings and unmark parameter, composite in linear color. This option actually not making the big sense for quality, but this helped me with render error. Very often render error appears on transitions, and with marked this option - transition uses gpu. After unmark just add in queue in media encoder. Try by your self. Like comment, if it helped, so others can try the method

What about if the video is 4K I tried using software only and it ruined all my adjustment layers and made my effects go crazy

Oh dear, well that definitely shouldn't happen! It being 4K shouldn't (in theory) make much difference as that's just the resolution. Try clearing your media cache and deleting all render files, rebooting and trying again?

I tried many things to fix this error, but nothing worked so far. I created a new sequence, deletet the part of the video where Premiere found the error, reinstalled my graphics driver, updated my drivers, tried Adobe media encoder, disabled the overclocking of my graphics card, I also tried rendering with software only and the programm showed up the same error.

I found the Error finally. It was exactly at the place where Premiere told my it is. Premiere had a Problem with Lumetri. I tried the effect Lumetri and the color Tool. Both led to the same error. After I deleted the effect it worked. I think there was a Problem with Lumetri and a Zoom Transition both on one Clip. The Other times it worked except of this clip

@@Ziegelstein21 Thanks for posting. This is useful to know. I feel like these things are Adobe's fault. It's entirely possible that someone will do color and zoom transition for the same clip. It's not like you're asking the software to do something outrageous.

Unfortunately ... not for me. (But thanks for the suggestion.) Both fixes fail for me. *[1]* With GPU acceleration off, the export fails in first ~2 seconds (same Lumetri error report). With GPU acceleration on, still fails (same error report), but takes longer to fail. Failure point in timeline is random: anywhere from first minute to last (93rd) minute; any camera, any effect settings. *[2]* The create new sequence trick also failed, in first 2 minutes. I have >100 of editting work trapped in this crippled project, with at least additional 30 hours wasted so far trying (futilely) to get this to export in any HD format. (DVD export worked, at least once. But, DVD, meh.)

@@SwitchedOnNetwork Yep, it's fixed the problem once (Especially with an after effects clip, although I navigated to AE and then replaced (not just reloaded) the exact same clip. In fact, it happened on such a dense project that I ended up creating a macro for: Rename Copy name Replace Paste in search box Enter Enter. Efficiency in the face of frustration!

MY SOLUTION: I didn't have nvidia graphics driver installed, encountered this exact error on Lumetri effects (GPU CUDA selected), then I installed "Nvidia Studio Driver (Latest, compatible)". Export took a bit longer, but WORKED!!
