Adolf Hitler and his followers staged the Beer Hall Putsch in Munich in November 1923. Kevin Hicks describes the attempted coop and how it failed, resulting in the capture and trial of the ring leaders and culminated in Hitler being found guilty of treason on 1st April 1924. Hitler only received the minimum sentence allowed, 5 years, but ended up only serving 9 months.
