Thanks for the answer! She plays really great. But what he offers, however, is simple fantastic and exceptional. in technical as well as musical view!. I'm just speechless..! @@cyrilpugin7778
@@jasondonnellymusic IMHO, she didn't play at this level, comparatively speaking. For a bass trombone player this is just amazing. For a trumpet (cornet) player, what she did can be seen often. Not to mention mistakes shouldn't be a top thing to look at in brass instruments, as they come with the instrument. That said, I agree with you that probably that is the reason why he didn't win
@@danielibanezgarcia Completely disagree lol. Both Lionel and Mathilde are insane players (borderline prodigies), and she definitely delivered a performance well deserving victory. "What she did can be seen often". No. Absolutely not. It was nearly flawless (even more so than Lionel's), with the piece being exceptionally difficult; Especially in the high registre with massive intervals. Not to take away from Lionel's performance, he was fantastic as well. But not as quite.
What a second rate piece of music. I don't understand why talented musicians waist their time on this kind of tripe that is an assault on the listeners ears.
