I mean Marika is known for her hair right? Make sense why he has alot of hair or why everyone in the family does sorta. Though I gotta say his hair is beautiful.
@@ulrikahaggard9923 mate it's middle of the night right now. And it's not my fault that i was thinking about great game that is Red alert 2 where Yuri Prime says "There can be only one true Yuri!"
@@eyesofthebeast could be, interestingly though it is not on his model when he is with radahn so my theory is that it is probably a ring from someone he was close to such as gowdyn, malenia, marika, or st Trina and he may have gotten rid of it on his quest to godhood so that that connection wouldn’t hold him back?
@@andrewdecker3752 I think it's a subtle hint that the corpse in the cocoon is indeed Miquellas original body and the ring was left behind on it. Miquella was going to abandon everything he had in the lands of shadow anyways.
Damn this is my first time properly hearing that second phase music. Usually it’s overshadowed by the constant 1000 explosions and flash bangs giving me sensory overload.
Yup. It is absolutely phenomenally designed. Peak gaming. I love rolling 15 times in a row so I can press r1 once. I love anime bullshit. And I love telling people online that I beat the hard video game cause I’m fckin good ass gamer bro

@@satekeeper Yeah when he gripped on Radahn I went "Oh. So we're REALLY doing a best of Fromsoftware games past, huh?" Neat that Miquella maintained that intricate braid along his back in both his younger and ascendant forms, even with the drastically-different hair lengths
@@mollymillions6586visual clarity, overall feel of the character and so on. We only notice this stuff when the models aren’t moving, which they never do in the game
@@mollymillions6586 its really just exaggerated for the final effect which happens with a lot of art. if you actually trace along the anatomy of lots of paintings and drawings with many effects or tricky perspective you'll often notice that some of the anatomy makes no sense. thats because skilled illustrators know how to make it look right without being 'correct'. Mohg is a pretty good example because the actual model underneath the robe looks pretty goofy, but you never see it so it doesn't matter that the proportions are stretched or too long or too short in places. What matters is the final effect of the character silhouette once the robe is on.
He did use to share that body with his female half. I guess we know why St Trina is just a torso attached to a plant, Miquella made sure to keep everything from the waist down for himself.
2:32 I have Miquella's ring in real life! Wayyy before the DLC was even announced, I noticed the ring on the withered arm, and asked my (modder) friend if he could extract the model, bake the textures into the geometry, and send it over. Then I 3D printed it. I plan on casting it in silver eventually, it's a really nice ring.
Ascended Miquella might be a better title, since he walks out of the Divine Gates shining with light, and the Remembrance name implies he has properly ascended now. The hair looks like a bitch to maintain, but when he's hanging off of radahn it makes it look like the Red Lion has the white mane that Godfrey/Serosh once had, helping his consort ape the man he looked up to so much. But from behind it could alo refer to the primordial form of the Elden Ring we see at Faram Azula, with manh, many rings to it. Also it looks like only one of his arms is actual flesh and blood, and the others are ghostly because he cast off the others on his way here (sinistral, dextral and St. Trina).
@@DieByFlyGuy1984whats weird is you can kinda see his other arm hidden behind radahn’s body and caught in his hair if you look closely in the cutscene, so idk why it disappears
@@j-lohome-slice7425 Funny how people keep saying "Mohg beat the allegations" when the community can't even beat the allegations themselves. (Seriously, some of these commenters need to be investigated.)

Def an adult. He was depicted as being waist-high to what we at least believed at the time was Godwin in statues. I never realized his arms around Radahn were of a spiritual nature until now. Neat.
Im glad they made his youth that way. Makes him look even more sinister when you realize he used his curse as a false mask of empathy. Hes not an eternal child, hes another god and worse.
@@angela.luntian i don't know if worse is the better word for little Mikey. Sure, brainwashing an entire civilization just to achieve his goal is bonkers, but the others is also quite insane (except Godwyn and Radahn, whose i think just a good bloke all around in the lore). Marika, literally pluck out the concept of death, abandon Messmer in the Shadow Realm, imprisoned her 2 child in the sewer, have a hand in the murder of Godwyn, betrayed her own shadow, etc etc. Radagon, literally abandoning his wife after impregnating her with 3 child. Ranni, killing Godwyn so she can achieve her goal. Rykard, get eaten by a snake and build a community around killing other tarnished. Malenia, nuking an entire region just because her brother having a tantrum of his "promised consort" refused their betrothal because said consort realized Mikey is a manipulative little bastard. every single one is just a bad demigod.
@@angela.luntian yall, nuance exists, he isnt evil, but he also is NOT good, no pure evil character exists in these games and this entire dlc is literally proof of that

To quote another great game: "You have been doomed ever since you lost the ability to love" "Ah... Sarcasm, 'For what profit is it to [a] man if he gains the world, and loses his own soul'?. Matthew 16:26 I believe." Miquella was screwed since he decided to cast away Malenia, Trina and everything that meant squat to him at any point. It's not like his ideals were flawed, it's that Miq had the horrible judgement to never see things through, he could have just continue nurturing the Haligtree, it had the potential to replace the Erdtree. Alas we remain here, at the tragedy's birthplace.
@@liamwright2510 Even Godrick is pretty formidable. People talk about him like he is a wimp but he is like Yamucha from DBZ. No he is not comparison to a Saiyan champion but he would literally murder 99.99% of fighters on Earth in 2 seconds.
@@abovearth6740 I think he's talking about the sword of St. Trina, who's description says that the sword shows an adult version of St. Trina and that it is disturbing.
Everything about Miquella seems like a child’s interpretation of the world. He seems like one of those kids you meet who are highly intelligent, but then they say something that reminds you they are a kid. Even his desire for Radahn as consort seems like a childhood promise, like saying you’re gonna marry your mom/dad. My big brother is so cool and strong, I’m gonna become God and make him my Lord! Even worse it seems to me like the Haligtree is only failing now cuz Miquella got “bored” with it. Everything seems to have functioned well, but without Miquella there to balance out Malenia the Rot is just taking over. Had he stayed, I think the Haligtree would have succeeded in at least being a safe haven for those trying to escape the Shattering. He's cursed with eternal nascency
That's only if you believe he choose to be taken away. I personally argue that Mohg kidnapped him of his own volition to make him his Empyrean and the conduit of the Formless Mother, and Miquella bewitched him when being his prisoner.
" My big brother is so cool and strong, I’m gonna become God and make him my Lord!" I actually kind of groaned when I figured that bit out. its cool and works but guess I've read too many romcom manga/manhwa... I've seen the trope too much. "let's get married, main character!" "oh kid, you're so cute, haha okay." *X amount of time later* "I'm back and sexy now." "Wuh-wuh-what we're still getting married?!? >///
The fact that Melania made clear she was sent there to kill Radahn and send him to the shadow realm indicates that this was always his plan, he wasn't just giving up the Haligtree cuz he got bored.
@@guypowerstrength5837 Hey, he is a kidnapper by trade, just ask the war surgeons. Or rather Varre since he is the only survivor amon them. But just like with the surgeons, he kidnapped Miquella for purely practical purposes.
Right?! Though I still don’t get what happened with his body since it was used for the haligtree and then in Mohg’s palace and THEN spread out all over the shadow realm???
Even his ring is gone. He truly abandoned everything to achieve his dream (and failed). It honestly makes me think about the fact that marika probably did the same and also gave up everything. This has crazy implications
@@rafsandomierz5313 i think the paths to godhood all involve sacrifice in someway, and given miquella’s entire ideology it makes sense he would sacrifice himself to “help” everybody else. Also i just remembered the story trailer where marika grabs runes/hair from a body and seems to ascend to godhood. In that scene the gate of divinity looks a lot more bloody and fresh, whereas when we see it it’s gray, almost mummified. I wonder if marika had to sacrifice all those people to ascend? It would definitely fit with marika’s character, she always seems to prioritize her ideals over people (think of poor godfrey)
Godfrey was conspiring with Mariska to get rid of the greater will. Her “banishing” Godfrey and his men to the badlands was all part of their masterplan to crease a band of warriors (tarnished) that would move in once she shatters the ring and destabilise the greater wills remaining control in the lands between. The “grace” guiding tarnished is literally marina guiding us to kill everything that would oppose her.
For me its the wonderful incandescent power shown when an empyrean is born from a new age forging its order upon the world which has forsaken its true gods.
That seems like a huge stretch. What about the hair makes it look "faulty" specifically? It's long, which means it's strong to be able to hold such a length, and clearly there's no traces of greying or mold or rot in there. It grows wildly, but that could just as easily be a symbol of strength or vitality (like a classic barbarian archetype). If the artists were trying to make it look "faulty," it feels like they should've done a lot more. It's not like they're incapable of making bad hair (Morgott).
I like the subtle storytelling in his design alone. He only has three arms instead of four because he cast Trina away. His eyes are devoid of the Grace of Gold because he rid himself of *any* Outer God influence to ascend to godhood. Hands down one of the best-written characters in the game.
@@alessandrodellalbani5641 Her lore implies she is budding a new version of herself from the nectarbloom where his blood fell, so maybe that's why she has two.
Oh just realized his hair and crown are a reference to the icon in Farum Azula with the expanded Elden ring. The circlet at the top, the braid representing the center column, the outer braids representing the rings, and the remaining strands of unbraided hair going outwards representing what we thought were roots.
I don't think I'll ever not feel robbed by the fact that we only get to interact with Miquella as a boss-no, an accessory to a boss. After all the build-up, and centering much of the DLC around him, it's intensely disappointing. I still really like him, but the potential has been wasted.
People keep saying femboy, but bishonen suits Miquella more. He's like a pretty boy from a classic shoujo manga. Bjorn Andresen levels of pretty. Also it felt illegal to see his bare calves...
This, bishonen seems to be an outdated term these days, but it fits better to this version of Miquella. Poor Björn Andresen tho, he did not deserve t suffer like that 😢
Ending of the video is really eerie with that triumphant heavenly music over the withered hand. Reminds me that after all Miquella has done, with this big intricate plan to ascend to godhood and change the world for the better, all that’s left to show of it is his mutated corpse sitting inside of a cocoon. It feels pretty haunting.
Spent countless years enacting a plan to shed his curse and become a god only to step out of the gate and get killed by some dude wearing a jar on his head and constantly rolls around like a crazy person
Miquella's god form has 3 arms, A four-toed fowl's foot. Material used for crafting items. In the Lands Between, having three digits is seen as a bad omen. As such, the four-toed fowl's foot is a gift of great luck indeed.
Not a femboy, idk why they feminize him a lot, while we all know that if he's not masculine it's bcs his body hasn't grown. If he had grown, he would be more masculine

@@dormammu629 no joke, obviously only a little shorter would be plausible, but I’d love to have hair like him! Even if that meant spending an hour everyday trying to maintain them😂
One of the few things I like about Radahn and Miquella is the returning motif of Godfrey with Serosh on his back. Why they chose to use this motif again, I don't know, but it shows what Miquella looks to emulate with his ascension.
