Hear one woman's story of living with the pain of scoliosis. Learn the early warning signs, how scoliosis affects adults and children, and meet Dr. Derek Taggard, a physician who’s helping patients find relief from this type of back pain.
Dr. Taggard was my Neuro Surgeon for my VP shunt revision. He's probably one of the most informative doctors i've ever had. He saved my academic future.
I've been told I slouch too much since I was in my teens but no matter how much I try to correct my posture my shoulders curve forward. It wasn't until I was being prepped for a C-section earlier this year that an anesthesiologist asked if I was ever told I could have scoliosis. After my pregnancy I went to a primary doctor and today I was officially diagnosed with scoliosis and referred to an orthopedic surgeon. I'm so used to back pain I thought it was normal even though it's gotten worse. I really hope for a solution that can alleviate the pain and possibly help my posture.
My Scoliosis appeared when I was 13. My family was i a certain 'Doosday cult" that encouraged us to wait on everything. No college, no surgery,no dental care, because JUST around the corner? "Big "J" willl step in and fix it all..lol still waiting..tictoctictoc
