99batran I think he meant animals go on instinct rather than choosing how to behave, whereas humans make their choices. :)

Shabba dabba well actually, animals do make their own choices. Many of which can choose which animals or plants they decide to eat, for example. If they cross an animal more powerful than them, some could either submit (freeze), back off (flight) or try to attack (fight). while humans can also run by instinct. You go by instinct every day in your life (example: emotions, the pure reactions to a certain thing, your daily routine...) In some cases, instinct and choice can be in one. People and some animals can still choose to break off from a certain natural instinct of routine, which in itself is also within nature ironically.

My neighbor's dog was chasing a squirrel that ran through the fence into my yard. The dog smacked into the fence full speed. Turned around and saw the squirrel back in his yard, chased him some more and smacked back into the fence a second time, in the same spot. The squirrel just LOVES messing with this dog. Granted, the dog isn't that smart. He thinks he's still a puppy who can fit into my lap, even though he's almost 100 pounds now.

Martin Roosileht Yes, you could, that's the entire concept of conditioning. The reason why it's difficult to pull a Pavlov on a human is because they have the capacity to know better. Animals don't. They figure things out by trial and error and conditioning is exactly how you train animals what to do and what not to do. There's no decision making in it. If you feel pain, you stop doing the damn thing that causes the pain. You get something good, you're inclined to do that action that brings you that good thing. That's all instinct. No analyzing or weighing options, no thinking about it and coming back to it later. It's pure instinct.

Because of evolution, because of humanism and rationality. Humans can think for themselves and all of these things in the video the humans brought on themselves. Animals don't have common sense, they can't consider the consequences of their actions, humans can.

I kinda agree, it's their instinct and experience that make them choose what to do imo. Every animal from the same species will roughly act the same. With humans there are way more possibilites because they can think for themselves what they want to do. An animal just does, a human can decide whether he wants to or not.

they when they saw the video form the drive in: totally deserved. they when they saw the video with the british guard: not deserved he isnt suppose to move. Oh but if someone throws Cola on you who is suppose to give it to you nicely and do his job that is deserved? happens to me everyday

this guards and fastfood workers have different salaries, so it's not comparable at all.

When I was in Mexico a week ago and there was an iguana hanging by the pool . And people were PETTING it and picking it up .Then the iguana took a dump in his shoes .
