Yep, it's so frustrating. What is worse is the parts to make a unicorn exist, but nobody will put them together into a single motorcycle. Several manufacturers now make a 40 hp modern single with fuel injection and long service intervals. And other manufacturers make a good offroad ready chassis and suspension package designed for dirt bikes. But nobody will take the engines from Column A and put them into the bikes from Column B. Instead we get fat ADV bikes and scramblers and dual sports that look like dirt bikes but go like scooters.

I think royal Enfield and cf moto are putting a lot of pressure on the big manufacturers with there smaller adventure bikes . All the midsize adventure bikes are close to 1000 cc. So I wouldn’t call them mid size the only one you could say was in that category is the Aprilia .

Weird to see all this manufacturers give it a go but I don't think Yamaha has come up with anything adv or dual sport related since the T7. I mean, come on Yamaha, everyone here is really waiting for the new WR. Same with Suzuki, everyone waiting for the new DR or DRZ. Shit, even a new Kawasaki Versys X with a higher displacement would have folks out the door, cash in hand.

Would love all three! Triumph 660, I would get as I'm dearly😢 waiting for BMW to re release a Dakar again....also I'd love that Honda...I'm obsessed as many Americans who bought the Himalayan for that Retro look. Disappointed in the newer version, looks like all the other current adventure bikes. I love the scrambler too.

As an owner of a 660 Sport one of my first thoughts was that it would make a capable ADV, or maybe ADV touring bike, depending on the suspension and wheels. The difficulty implementing and marketing a Triumph 660 ADV bike is the fear of poaching sales of the 900 series bikes. The 660 is 50 pounds lighter, 80 hp is plenty for ADV work, and the 660 base price is 5,000 USD less. Say 3,000 less after the 660 is "adventurized" with 21/18 tubeless wheels and upgraded suspension. It would be a strong competitor to the Transalp for sure, but likely less off-pavement capable than a Tuareg. Keep up the good work on videos, and slather on the SPF 100!

CB350X modelled on the old himalayan would be awesome. I am so disappointed with the new Himalayan, i was waiting ages for it to come out and it looks like every other generic adventure bike now. The himalayan 411 has an old school appeal, which fits in with the entire royal enfield lineup. A twin cylinder honda retro adventure bike would be an likely be the improved himalayan 411 that i was hoping for, provided they can get the torque and horsepower high enough (and given that the kawasaki versys 300 makes 40hp, it should be possible)

FINALLY !!! Somebody is acknowledging it... The thing that H411 had, which separated it from other ADV vehicles is missing in the H450. H450 is more or less aligned with other generic ADV vehicles. I honestly didn't find anything special abt it, other than the fact that it is the first Liquid cooled engine developed by RE and produces more power than the 411.

The problem MAY be is that the 660 is NOT a T- plane crank , so same firing order as the older 800 ( which wasn’t the best off road ) maybe 🤔 they are doing some engine work .
@siulgonzalez

The smoothness of this engine would be very welcome on road, and with fine-tuned electronic traction control it would be a non-issue off-road. I just hope they give all the electronic features (suspension and engine management) from bigger bikes, at least as an option for those who want a lighter (not budget focused) do-it-all bike.

@@natekerx85 We have plenty of heavy overpowered overpriced OR basic cheap 2-cylinder bikes. We don't have any medium size (under 200kg and over 80hp) well balanced TRIPLE, good for offroad AND onroad. This polivalence is why I mention electronics (active suspension and engine modes).
@natekerx85
@natekerx85 3 месяца назад
@@siulgonzalez have you ridden an aprilia Tuareg? Ducati desert x? Not triples, but very good on the road and not cheap. Not triples but who cares? None of these bikes are that good offroad. People with a bit of cash and very little off-road ability or ambition but then and farkle them and ride them on the road in full Klim gear. The whole segment is eye wateringly boring if you actually want to get in the dirt and a triple isn’t going to change that in the slightest.

It would be cool to see a 660 from triumph, but I doubt it would be affordable. Only things available from them that are affordable are their new 400 scramblers that were made in India. I'm sure the 660 would have all the bells and whistles and be way too much for most of us. It's almost hard to say, but my eyes are turning towards the Chinese. They seem to be the only ones listening. That ibex 450 has definitely intrigued me

Solid like your work, keep it up! But I cant get excited over this possible Triumph as IMHO I see it as a step down from a 950 and design wise I cant see it really being lighter or overall smaller. Triumph quote 219kg wet. Consider my 80G/S (stock) weighs in a 186kg WET. My 2004 KTM 950 is 206kg WET! Unfortunately as I was very interested, the CFM MT 450 is stated as 175kg DRY! Please push for a Kove importer. I ran my hands over a Kove 450 Rally in Italy last year, very impressed, that would be a good contender here.145kg Dry.

I think the honda would sell here in the states. Small bikes for girls, young people, short guys abd new riders. After all, the TW200 is still a great seller here as well as the honda 125 trail bike thing. As far as the triumph goes, id pass. A ripple engine im assuming weighs more than a twin. Weight is key here in that middle weight segment. After all, look at the new Kove 800. Weighs about as little as my roomates XR650L. So dont go heavier, go lighter. But it will be smoother with a twin. Nope, id pass. Looking forward to getting the CFMoto 450mt when it gets here

I have been saying for a while now that the only bike I would trade in the Rally for is the Touareg, but secretly hoping that Triumph would come out with a 675 Rally pro. The 900 is just a bit too much bike for some of the off roading this mediocre rider likes to take on from time to time. Just hope it still gets most of the bells and whistles I’ve become accustomed to.

55hp & 62Nm don't make sense... I own a Tiger Sport 660 and the engine makes 82hp and around 47 lbs of torque so that's already around 64Nm. They could detune it to have less Hp and more grunt down-low but to make less torque... seems weird... and the Hp seems very low... especially when you'd compare it to the competition at the same level. Don't get me wrong, it's be nice to see it come out! But, it would not be the third bike on the platform, they came out with the Daytona 660 so it would be the 4th on that platform ;)

Yes, yes, Honda give us the CB350X, Many Americans didn’t buy the Himalayan due to crappy build quality, dealer networks and reliable longevity. I’ve yet to see Himalayan’s get 50-70k on them. We want Honda reliability and the Enfield brand has yet to meet Japanese standards. I honestly thought Suzuki would have done this first. Honestly I love the Himalayan’s looks at least the old ones they ruined the new ones with that tank design. Sad to think Honda would overlook the US with this bike. They did a great job so what if they stole the design.

What is up with Yamaha. My favorite brand but not much new these last few years. They need a new dualsport desperately. As much as people would like to see a new more powerful WR I think they would make more money off of a 350cc bike somewhere between the XT and the WR. Give it a decent sized fuel tank a lower seat height but good ground clearance like the xt has and it would be enough to steal sales from the Honda and Kawasaki bikes. Also a smaller Tenere would be great. Actually a japanese built adventure bike similar to the new Royal Enfield Himalayan would be great.

I do live and ride in Asia, that Honda 350 is all or more for what u need here for an ADV bike. As for the 2024 Rally, I am beginning to develop some harsh/negative feelings for Honda. I have 23 Rally with $3000 USD in it to fix bubble gum suspension, terrible Euro 5 fueling, racks/real crash plate, replaced the bubble gum handlebars, USB port because Honda just does not give a sh*t. Working on combining my horn with high beam light, since no passing light switch from Honda...........Just came back from 3 days solo ride out in the middle of nowhere ride, 155 kgs, it's awesome, I just kept riding till I got stuck. Yank her out, turn around and keep going. Honda seems too big, too comfortable, too stuck in the don't give a sh*t about these small displacement bikes frame of mind to actually deliver a proper/well set up Rally. Imagine the Rally 300 R, good suspension, tubeless rims, opened up engine, real protection, it would be the ultimate light/small displacement around the world bike. Charge extra, these bikes would sell..........But no. Right now u get a project bike or super substandard bike in stock form. Going Chinese. Uffff, feel better now, thx.
