Nah that's literally 95% of advanced war's 1 story. Where every single fight except the ones with Olaf and sturn could have been avoided if a meeting council had occured
These are all so good! I kinda wish they had added even more for the villains: Flak vs Max, Adder vs Grit, Lash vs Sonja, Hawke vs Eagle…Hawke vs Andy even in the challenge campaign…
Huh, I wonder why there aren't as many unique quotes in the AW2 campaing. Maybe it is because the plot doesn't have much in the personal stakea department? I mean, in the first one clones were created, people were confused, misguided and fought each other. In the second campaign, except maybe Toy Box and the Sonja vs Lash mission (which I'm surprised there is no quote there), there isn't much personal stakes imo. Maybe Black Hole COs could had a unique quote in their Factory missions, a la Sturm in the final battle?
I think it's because in the GBA versions, AW1 had a lot more unique power activation lines for missions. Though not every mission had them and the COs just activated their power without saying anything. GBA AW2 didn't have any personalized lines, it was a generic activation quote for each CO. There's a few lines in AW1 that got taken out in the reboot unfortunately, but AW2 added in some here and there.
AW1 had unique CO power activation lines like Kanbei saying "Cut them to shreds" and "Come back in ten years" whereas AW2 didn't. AW2 was also less about the characters and more about the gameplay itself. Some opportunity for good unique CO activation lines would have been Grit vs Adder in "Tanks!" Kanbei vs Adder in "Duty and Honor", Sonja vs Lash in "A Mirror Darkly", Eagle vs Hawke in "Sea Fortress" and Jess vs Lash in "Sinking Feeling".

@@catspoons That's honestly not even the worst Max CO activation. Have you heard his "Roll Tanks Roll!" line? It sounds so empty and passionless like the VA completely missed the point of the character he was playing.
Man, I wish you would sometimes get character-to-character power lines in War Room/Versus. Details matter, you know! And what we need is expansion of this series and lore!
Sonja likes to send soldiers to war for intel while Andy sends soldiers to war for fun.... I get the feeling those two would be a disaster for world leaders.

Does anyone think Sonja is a psycho? She's clearly the most level headed CO in the game if you don't include Nell who really doesn't do that much fighting.
ok i may just be misremembering because my memory is pretty bad but i swear i remember Olaf having a unique line in the finale battle! but idk im to lazy to go check also who else expected sturm to have a deeper voice? just me? (also also i swear andy sounds exactly like ash ketchum)
