I like you better than Precision Striking now. When I go into my gym I see beginners making progress. Most say they are watching you. Video on throwing and taking power shots.
I’m not sure if you’ve don’t it before but a tutorial on how to use the speed bag, cobra bag, double end bag, or any rhythm training equipment would be nice
@@justaperson1779 If you're trying to get rid of the flinch, or take the next step towards sparring, have you tried things like, put on headgear and a mouthpiece and JUST defend a partner's jab (jab drill)? Snappy punches, not power punches. Then work up to just the left hand, or body sparring (shoulder/body), and go from there? Small steps up.
@@Mc-fw2rz its still awesome man . he could be charging people big money to teach them in person regularly just for the quality of his knowledge . he's an ex olympian 🔪🔥
It´s actually not high level. To be honest, his boxing theory is very flawed. Some basic drills are good, such as his footwork, but all in all... don´t use this guys guides. You will be eaten alive by good boxers.
@@SuperCrazyEstonian it's for the basic dude this is how most people are teach as a beginner. He has won a few fights I think he knows. And I'm considered a traditional boxer with my stance and this was my first lesson when I was a kid. You advance down the road and get your own personality
I never comment on videos ever. But this is such a phenomenal instructional! I'm a boxing trainer and there are so many great critiques in here that I can apply to my work as well. This man deserves all the recognition, this truly is one of the best crash courses I've seen for small details in boxing
I just can’t believe this guy puts in the effort to tell us WHY each exercise is important. Really must have been an incredible student to be this good a teacher.
Here is my note: ------------------ 1. Forward & Backwords, Stepping & Punching 4:26 - punch and step land at the same time - also step on 2 of 1-2 2. Changing up combos - 1-2-hook-2 4:53 - 1-1-2-hook-2 5:00 - jab-uppercut-hook-2-1 5:09 * step every time 3. Cutting the distance down (1-2-1- 2steps back-1step left) 6:03, 6:55 - 3rd punch = power-punch - 2nd punch = setup-punch 4. Punching-bag - punch and step land at the same time 7:57 - don’t bring your head forward of your front feet - do backwards too 8:47 - 1-2-1 9:14 5. Jab 12:31 - fully extend 1. Speed jab (no stepping-in) 10:17 - can also hover out 11:38 - keep him thinking - needs to travel less 2. Power jab (steps in) 10:24 6. 1-2 18:25, 19:26 Don’t do: - no arm-punches → turn hips being parallel - coming forward, cross not fully extended → arms length from the bag and visualize a line on top of the front foot. And don’t cross the line when punching 15:40 - holding breath → exhale with each punch - lowering guard - elbows coming up → elbows in * punch and step landing at the same time → more power 7. Lead hook setup: - backheel of the ground - weight on the front foot (60%) how: - slip (hip parallel) 20:54 - back hand punch (straight right hand, uppercut) 1. mid-range 23:08 - hip rotates back to normal position - left arm 90 degrees - palm facing towards you or to the ground 2. short-range 24:11 - hand closer to your face 3. long-range - don’t have to setup. can be thrown from normal stance - palm facing down - throwing straight afterwards 25:40 - using it for pivoting 25:59 4. lead-hook to the body 1. normal 26:48 2. no turning hips 27:19 → hook to the head 27:27 8. move your head 28:27
This is what I love about RU-vid!! To have someone like Tony on here teaching us all this incredible stuff!! I’d love to see a collab between Tony and Wonderboy!! 🥊 Thanks for the content Tony!! 🙏🙏
Thanks a lot. I come from a karate background and after 17 years of karate I started boxing just to try it out, and I was so stiff and not agile at all, since karate stance and movement is way different from boxing, but since I started watching your videos and putting some application to get better habits I improved a lot, still have a lot of karate-ish habits since its a lot of time but I see I can get way better with your videos. Thank you! Oss
Thanks Tony, this is great, much appreciated brother. My two sons and I live in Thailand and they have been training in Muay Thai for the past 2 years. Its a great martial art but there is not much emphasis on punching. This video has been super valuable to my boys in improving their boxing techniques. Keep up the great work ;-)
You made a 1 hour video of golden tips and content. You’re truly criminally underrated! Especially with all the titles and medals you’ve won aswell. Keep up the awesome content Tony!
I can't possibly give Tony enough props for making content like this. As a high level karate and wrestling guy, and also a high level athlete (Jr. Oly. LaX), I can unequivocally attest too precisely how quality this training is. Super accessible, highly personable and combined with exemplary visual organization... you've got it together. Thanks man!
Just want to say, once again, thank you for passing on your knowledge. I enjoyed the bloopers video the other day. It's clear to see your passion for the sport and helping people become fit, happy and healthy via boxing. Absolute legend!
This is an incredible lesson Tony and I've never gained so much boxing knowledge from a single lesson. Thank you so much. My coach and I have been working on adding feints, defense around the bag, and general fluidity so that I can string multiple combos without getting stuck (I struggle with this esp. adding defense.. not sure how to improve fluidity tbh). He also told me that I'm not returning my hands to my face with the 1-2. I'll try the 1-2-1 to gain fluidity as well. I'll work on this tomorrow.
I generally dislike people who re-use footage, but compounding multiple videos worth of your content into one place is amazing and such a good QOL thing you didn't have to do.
Tony Thankyou so much for your videos. You’ve improved me massively. I’d do a cycle, run or go on the cross trainer and always watch your videos. Then go on a bag and get every drill down to a T. Now I’m a much better boxer. Ive currently joined a boxing club & they seem to love me. A lot of thanks for these videos
The way you break down everything is brilliant! Thank you for the content! - a new (as in my first lesson was 48 hours ago new) 33 year old boxer and I find your content invaluable. Thanks again 🤙🏽
Absolutely amazing video, I remember 2 years ago I was the worst of the worst and now the best fighters in the gym are complementing my speed and accuracy, I wish to fight in a match in a year when I finally feel good enough, stay consistent, always take time to heal and keep working hard. This guy knows what he's doing, listen to him!
Your the Man Mighty Mackem! You truly are an example and ambassador for the sport of Boxing for other boxers/fighters to follow and also keep in mind. A true professional and professor to the art, a bloody shame what happen to your hands, but you finished on top with that fat O that says so(record). And now giving back to this great sport we love, sharing your insights and knowledge and as the best trainer I have ever seen or sat under. Your a natural as a trainer and explain your self well that anyone can pick up. Thank you Tony, the Sport of Boxing needs more like you Sir. God Bless you and your family.
Tony, just want to say thank you! Practiced boxing when I was a kid, but there was a big hiatus after it. I'm involved in another sport I love right now, but I still like boxing and want to keep training it, so your videos have been great for me. Those footwork drills were awesome, just a little time doing them improved my footwork greatly. I would heel step a little and I completely got rid of it. It made my shadow boxing look 10x better. If I can give a tip for anyone trying those drills: When you get to the footwork free sequences, try repeating punches with the same arm because those were my difficulty. For example, when walking backwards doing 2-1-2-2. Or going forward and doing 1-2-3-1. Anything that makes you punch with the same arm twice, so you have to do two quick steps for the second punch.
How generous is that Tony !!! Huge respect from Morocco, from them all lil guys that cannot afford to travel for seminars or buy courses ... Big big heart champ, a great way to give back ... God bless you Tony, ... Warm thanks coming straight from the heart, Tony... Just Woooow, a whole textbook right there omg.
Best youtube boxing coach. You took my boxing to the next level. I'm hanging in there with good pros and amateurs. Only been boxing seriously since 18.
Mr.Jeffries your videos really help me improve my game I'm 36 and I'm relearning the sweet science you've been my coach for weeks and I really see the improvement i thank you sir
Hi Tony, I'm a big fan of your contents for a long time, because I admire the way you transmit your deep knowledge of the noble art. I particularly recommend this Advanced Boxing Drills video, because it is sort of Encyclopaedia of most relevant techniques in boxing. Again, congrats for for your extremely good explanations. Big hug from Madrid; I am your top fan here in Spain :)
you da man. I'm training 3 times a week and i allways crave more. your channel allows me to hone my skills at home while constantly looking at what things should look like and adjusting myself in the mirror. awesome
Tony , thank you bro. Really, I am blown away at the fact you have this for us for Free. I really appreciate the fact that you took the time to put together this video (which is a masterpiece) and it didn't cost us anything to get this video. There is very good information here. I even see other awesome RU-vid channels with good coaches teaching good Stuff, but to get to the very good stuff they put out we have to pay for, they only put out so much info on RU-vid for free.which I get it and I don't see any problem with that, but you put out a video over an hour long full of vital information for a boxer and you gave it to us for Free. I think you deserve lots of credit from us and we do truly appreciate what you are doing. Boxing is something I get to do FOR ME. I'm a family man and I work full time to support my family and my family is everything to me, and everything I do is always about them. But boxing is something I get to do for me. It's a way of life for me. I take a lot of the same concepts and apply it to things in everyday life. Boxing is also a way I take care myself and stay in shape. I really thank God I am blessed to have the ability to box and learn from great teachers such as yourself. When I comment to your videos I thank you for all you do I literally mean that wholeheartedly. I appreciate you Tony thank you and God bless you and yours
Exactly what I was expecting ! l love those long format that go deep into technical topics (theory + demos). One suggestion : Real time (not necessarly in live stream) boxing bag training with several rounds focused on different themes. Thank you very much Tony 🥊💪
In all of martial arts, this and the ultimate guide to boxing are the most professional and logical structured videos you can watch for free. Great Channel, great Content! I m searching for something this structured for bjj.
Tony my names Daniel.. Just wanted to say a massive thank you.. Your videos are fantastic.. Very easy to follow yet very effective. Downloaded a lot of your videos and cannot sing your praise enough.. Tha k you for the videos and keep up the good work pal.. All the best
Damn can't wait to try it out in the morning, it's too late out here now for me to train. Thanks again Tony the teacher we dont deserve but the teacher we need.
jogging around until my feet hurt really helped me level up, though I wish I had a punching bag but I don’t mind shadow boxing, gonna do these drills and see what the outcome is.
Haven’t stopped, trying to go amateur or something. Us natives don’t really have a chance anywhere. I still go running and my boxing is as clean as ever, so I been going strong. Jus need to get noticed, I’m still 17 though so lots of time
I'm currently writing an article on boxing drills and exercises, came to your channel as a part of my research drive. I have to say, Mr. Jeffries, you are a phenomenal teacher and your videos are outstandingly informative, I'll be adding links to your videos in my article. Thank you for the detailed video with easy-to-navigate chapters and brilliant teaching method. God bless you and best of luck.

Hey Tony Thanks for the awesome channel,it’s really valuable for new coaches like myself, helping to fill in gaps in knowledge or teach everyday things in a different way.
Dunno boxing nor this guy... but he breaths boxing. This guy is great in explaining and... his video's are brilliant. No bullshit. Just simply a perfect explaining of correct boxing techniques for the people that wanna box the correct way !
Mr Jeffries you re my favourite boxing coach on RU-vid, i rly ve learned alot in short time.Very well explained, and good vid cutting and rly helpful visualisation.
Such a good video, has everything you could ask for as far as a crash course in how to train/fundamentals of boxing offense and defense. Thanks for sharing your knowledge sir
A local club had this young guy about 11 years old and he had a superb jab. He'd been mastering that and as a result he wasn't being scored well in his fights due to a lack of effective rights. He lost a few fights and his coach disowned him which i saw as a travesty. He had heaps of potential and got shut down by narrow minded boxing refs, judges and his coach. No wonder Australia doesn't have a deep pool of fighters with this crap going on. A likeable coach is a good coach. Intelligent approach without the ego. Appreciation and respect to you sir.
Huge props to this guy for giving out such good knowledge for the sport of boxing, you can see the experience break downs he’s giving will definitely use many of these techniques to polish my everyday workout. Wish this man nothing but success 🙏
