I understood, but i cant imagine how da fuck the detector send an already compressed signal if he is the one that send the signal to the compression circuit, in order to compress😂 arrrg
So is the sidechain basically the threshold? I mean does the sidechain encompass the threshold? This is one of the things, that is hard to grasp, unless you have some knowledge of the physical parts of a compressor. The diagram does not help the slightest when the building blocks of a compressor are unexplained. I mean, what is the sidechain exactly? What does it encompass? What is the control signal? What is the control signals main purpose, and how does it differ after the control signal has passed thru the gain reduction element once? What is the gain reduction element exactly? Where is the treshold located? Is it the control signal that pushes passed the threshold and starts compression? Or has it already passed a threshold in the sidechain section. You talk about color, but where does the color come from? And how is it possible that the signal gets more colored when it passes thru less components. Only thing that makes sense to me is that, the reaction of the compression gets faster because the control signal is catched directly from the input. But even this raises questions... dude i can't. Sorry, but for me this lesson gave more questions then answers. 😅🤦🏾♂️
Oh I use it more than anything else, it became such huge part of my chains and workflow. Definitely I use the SSL 4K more than anything else, Neve channel and compressor for some drums and bass, Chandler zener, germanium and curve bender on few tracks (usually with the SSL channel I just changed the eq or comp section), CL1B and summit eq and comp
Very informative! Would you considere slowing down a bit :)? I’m sure people who watch this kind of content can handle a couple of minutes more for the benefit of ungerstsnding things better.
There’s a speed playback on RU-vid, that would be more useful than him adjusting all of his content. This kind of content can be boring to people who already know 90 percent of the information and are just looking for that extra stuff to refresh their memory or even learn something new. Some guys can be really boring and slow in their explanations so you have again the same option - RU-vid playback speed up. Or should I say feedforward 😅 Cheers! To knowledge🥂
