Dear coach, I'm 20 5'7 and am looking for a basketball scholarship while i'm still in 3rd yr college, i never got to play varsity in high school because I never seemed to love the game as much as I do now. I consistently worked my butt off and practiced the Deepgame for a year to be able to reach my goal. I'm now recognized by my peers as the most skilled among them. But sometimes I feel like its too late to achieve it. Coach, what do you think I should do to be recognized by my college to be able to play for them? Do I even have the slimmest chance of playing at all?

You have a chance to play of course if your skill is really on par, and the best option would likely be trying out for the team whenever they have tryouts. To be truthful however, it's unlikely you're going to get a scholarship for your team if it's your last year, as college teams almost always use those for incoming freshman or transfers that they recruit - Simon, Team DeepGame

Thank you for the advice, but what are the things I can work on now while there are no tryouts that can help me stand out among 90% of the others? I consistently train my skills and lift weights even on my busiest days. My defense is on par and so is my handles. But their height and trash talking really puts a lot of pressure on me and I might get humiliated before I even get noticed.

@@gavinelcano7092 It really just depends on what your game needs most, and what your strengths already are. So what that means is to center your game around your best skill (maybe that's finishing, shooting, driving, etc.), and then ensure that the skills you're weaker at are still proficient enough that you're comfortable with them. Something else that is often neglected in the off-season is playing pickup / on a team to help apply your skills to games. 1-3 times a week there is very helpful depending on how much you need - Simon, Team DeepGame
