I did not mention which Elite queue drops what fragment as that is changing 10 hours after this video goes live. Refer to the wiki page for info on what drops where after 6/15/23. stowiki.net/wiki/Advanced_Consoles High Energy Communication Console info for those interested: stowiki.net/wiki/Console_-_Universal_-_High-Energy_Communications_Network
Awesome, been waiting to get your take on this, I hope they adjust the drop rate because we've run Vault Ensnared 3 times with a full team and not one of us ever got the drop, so it's less than 1/15 chance at present, I've more or less given up now and just sell the probably empty elite boxes on the exchange. I've made 4 of the Hangar craft consoles and they work well but I had to buy the particles on the exchange to make them, the isomagnetic ones don't seem to make much difference, with three of them maybe 5% more than 1 locator and 2 exploiters but with RNG and team mix it's hard to really tell, certainly I don't think they are worth the effort or the EC to fit. Thanks as always for your ongoing efforts. Matt SRS
My experience with the weapon power ones on my hydra has been very different. I have a 100% crit chance SS3 build on my Hydra. I am running 1 lorcator, 4 Colony phaser consoles and 4 Weapon power phaser consoles. My on target DPS went from 750k to a clean 1 million plus with just using my spam bar. (I say on target because across a whole mission is reliant on things like target acquisition speed and the like, and those are not consistent variables.) So I saw a 33% increase in DPS by changing out for these.
A word on the builds here, these are only viable with a arranged organised team as youll get a tank etc, if you are like most and queing up and pugging then then youll need survival and to build differantly, always throw on crafted ones on Engineer and Universal slot, and colony onto tac slots, thatll leave you however many free science slots your ship has for universal consoles. you will prob need the Valdore console and the image refractors with a few hull heals (on your spam bar to get the temp HP's), prob be about 2 or 3, you only want to do this build if you get put minimum 6ish crafted consoles on, otherwise build as normal. So thats the 2 Unis you can use on the crafted pug builds, that may leave one more you can put on and id go Immolating Lance over the Comm Network that doesnt seem to work all the time and often pets are out of range, pets rank up real quick as well so after a few mins its a wasted slot on longer pug runs.
Thanx Spencer... i picked up some of the cheapest isomagnetic consoles on the exchange. Re-engineering them to phaser took between 5-30 rolls, which was still way cheaper than paying the 20-30 mil premium for the phaser version on the exchange. I'm test driving 5x iso consoles on my D7 with SS3, and so far, I've been been getting higher peak hits. Next I'll try adding the Discovery store Bellium consoles. I also grabbed some of the hanger/phaser versions, but will play with those later. I took your advice and made the purchase ahead of the price creep we might see going forward. I'm not sure which other power type I'd want to try, especially since I dont have the plasma items (gorn ship) needed to help a plasma build. But again ... thanx for constantly pushing the edge for your followers.
For budget science builds players are probably better off getting Fleet Research consoles or even picking up drops from the DSC Reputation over the Advanced Science Exotic Particle Amplifier.
Guess we will see if they actually fixed Trauma Response. I have been waiting for them to fix the 'free 75% shield pen' that it was giving. Now you can use it but still have to heal someone or something else to get that shield pen.
Great information, thanks for doing the video. Some of the components are dropping like rain and others are not regardless of how many times I run the TFO. Also good tips for picking up the core components from the exchange.
On my eternal "budget" epg build i use 2 of the fleet research consoles, the restorative ones with my eng slots allocated to heals which keep me healed up in pubs. I found 2 is all I need to maintain the 30% bonus epg damage all the time. Now for my scout ship which i just acquired, I have 1 extra slot after all the good consoles I could afford. Right now that is not really helping so I think 1 of these consoles on epg would be desirable. Though I do wonder how much a 40% plasma bonus would increase some of the universal consoles, maybe 15% more damage.
That Fragment drop chance is *NOT* 50%. Feels more like 30 or 20%. I went 4 hours with no fragment drops. Did it 2 days in a row. Played Vault Ensnared 12 times with no fragment drop. I'm positive it's not 50%. Flipping a coin is 50%...
Vault ensnared might be broken though, so that could have skewed your results. I have noticed about a 50% drop rate from the TFOs that have given me fragments.
@@CasualSAB I hope so. I can see a weapon power set up with a ton of EPS to keep your weapon energy as high as possible being at least experimented with.
Eh. I can't speak for everyone. But I spent 300 zen worth of Dilithium to re-engineer 4 of the consoles that I had crafted. Where as it cost me nearly that much to purchase just one console from the Exchange.
11:19 Question: If pets do not lose weapon power when they fire, what is the advantage of a weapon power buff for pets? That fact that they do not lose weapon power negates the need to increase weapon power to compensate for weapon power loss. Does the pet weapon power setting affect the pet damage capability?
It's buffing both their weapon power and MAX weapon power cap. Weapon power directly impacts the amount of damage energy weapons do, so more power is buffing their damage output. Same reason that any endgame player build focused on energy weapons has their weapons power cranked to 100.
Great video. but can you tell me, in your obviously infinite wisdom about everything STO: What is more important, Boosting Phasers, like we used to do, (i use phasers) Or boosting Weapon power. as the new consoles do. And which is more powerful; more Weapon power, or more Critical chance ?...
Both are valuable. Question is which you have more room for on your build. On an eng heavy ship you use isomags, and on a tac heavy ship you go with locators/exploiters in most situations. There are some builds where you would want to go with one or the other even if ti doesn't have the most slots, but the above should apply for most builds.
how much of a difference is there on the Isomags between something like [plasma] versus [beams]? I'm assuming that the [beams] or [cannons] ones are considered a fail, rather than a success?
For a budget or rainbow build [beams] or [cannons] are fine. But if you're specifically focusing on one damage type, you really want that corresponding mod. For plasma, getting [plasma] consoles would be boosting up the non-weapon plasma damage sources on your build. So best to get them if you have the funds.
i don't know why but i'm still able to use my advanced console with my fleet spire ones i just put it in a universal slot after removing the fleet spire console that was there but i still had 4 more in my tac console slots, maybe it's fixed now but it worked on my lexington
That's kind of a bummer that the Hangar Pet Power console gives bonus dmg to Torps rather than Projectiles. Then this could have actually been a universal Hangar Pet console. Yet again the Devs screw somebody.
HELLO SIR for us on console could it be possible since we do not have the new r&d system yet to begin playing elite tfos hold the elite box and then open it when the change is on ,and get the materials sooner that way? thanks
Did they lower the chance to get one those advanced components? I just did 19 Elite TFOs in a row and I got only 1 isomagnetic plasma piece. Nothing else. So that's 5% not 50%. I asked my Fleet mates and most are between 5% and 15%. I was never close to 50%
So, what is the max Endeavor level to have all of the crit chance and severity. Reason I ask is to whether those new elite cons are worth it yet. (Also tried qing into the event and it just sat there after pop for 10 minutes without anything happening. I don't have time to wait for the game to decide on what to do.)(Victory is life gear is also real expensive to reengineer also.)
U can't mix categories. U can only pick one category of the same console type. U can't mix the new pet dmg consoles and the tactical consoles for example. It's tactical consoles ONLY on your ship or the pet dmg consoles ONLY.
@@CasualSAB 50k DPS average would already be luvly, to be honest, for my build at least. :) Is the normal warp core similarly good or is only the singularity core special enough?
@@PhillipLemmon Don't think it will be a heavy handed Borticus style nerf tbh, also because those advanced consoles aren't really that powerful to begin with when compared to available alternatives. Only exception perhaps is the Hangar Craft Power Transmission, which is the first available console that directly and passively boosts pet damage. And to roughly double your pet DPS you'll need at least 5 of those, which restricts many other build options and is only really viable on a few available carriers. And it still won't make them anywhere near competitive in a DPS manner. So there's definitely some space for tweaking the performance of these advanced consoles. But more importantly: the manner in which one can acquire the needed crafting components. Because that is either rather expensive or quite the chore atm.
@@axelhopfinger533 well my point is it's still going to be NERFING, lol The term used is just a placating system used to "soften the blow" of the effect. If a plasma beam has 1 million dps AND THEY SEE THAT they will say "oh well this is way too powerful let's cut that way down!" and they cut it to 20 dps are you going to WANT to use that plasma beam anymore? No you won't. And 9 time outta 10, it's AGAINST the players who are having the most fun. Sigh..... Nevermind I give trying to make people see sense about the stuff going on in game houses, lol
Bought an Isomagnetic engineering console, and i cant place it anywhere on my ship. Not even if i remove anything thats on it. "You do not meet the requirements"... I am an Fleet-admiral for 4 years... That is typical Cryptic bull, isn't it ?...
@@CasualSAB Well, it stays shit, same as some items are character bound, while others (the same) are account bound... illogical. But it is good that you can use your "old" consoles in tac. besides, for 56 mil a piece they are expensive anyway.
But even 7 of those tactical vulnerability or exploiter consoles from the spire just give you below 50k damage without matching engineering and science consoles. Thus, I see no point in these new advanced R&D consoles.
Hello, if you're wanting to see the math on the Advanced Isomag consoles, I have a video going over them here. For many folks these Isomag consoles will provide an equal or better damage boost. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--yQ6z3SOywo.html
