Hi Roger, here in the UK back in the late 70's/80's DTL/ABT was pretty much the only discipline that was available locally to me. There were UT layouts if we wanted to travel and ESP was almost non existent for the casual shooter. Most weekends a group of us shot registered DTL or ABT and an informal "bale shoot" weekday evenings in the summer months. Anyway i think your instructional videos on trap will be invaluable for new shooters to trap. I watch and i can relate to what you are saying in a no nonsense presentation. Well done mate.👍
Roger , i must commend you on your videos I’ve found them wonderfully helpful . I’m sure you mentioned you are a retired school teacher . Your students were fortunate to have a teacher who can teach so well . I do find myself laughing when you begin some of your videos saying you’ve just finished a glass or two of wine ! I wish you well and thank you again . Chris
Hi Roger, I think you really nailed the topic of moving on from a beginner to be more advanced in this video. It's absolutely a must for the amateur clay shooter like me. I recently discovered how to utilize the "Quiet Eye" phenomenon but I still looked in the "wrong place" for the clay. Your take on gun and eye hold definately helped me further along on the journey of being more consistent. Regards Sven
Hi Roger, and thanks for the very useful lessons. I am a good skeet shooter(B class), but a miserable trap shooter. I confess that i have no reliable explanation for it. I used a modified choke on an Wincester SX3 sporting gun. Probably I am waiting too much, and also I am not using a correct lead. I will try to follow your advices. Thanks again and keep your good job.
Pepo...good to hear from you...if it's a sporter ...I'm guessing it's a semi-auto not an o/u...and that's ok... the important thing is to set up the gun so that it shoots where you look...your gun has had some good reviews...and I'm glad your coming from the dark side(skeet) to the light(trap) ...good on you and happy shooting...PS if its a single barrel try using improved modified choke
