7:26 The score of each trick gets lower the more you do them, that’s why you scored lower on a double kickflip compared to just a kickflip. I don’t know if it resets after a period of time that you stopped using it tho’. I think this is to force you to use a variation of different tricks and help you be more creative. Good vid BTW.
Yeah, I knew that and mentioned it in the Combos & Special Tricks video, it just didn't click in the moment haha! But you're right, definitely to force you to use a variation, if you want those big scores! :) Thanks a ton, man! Appreciate it!
I just learned from yesterday that when you do a manual, your speed eventually slow down. But when you hold the Ollie button while you manual, you actually keep the speed going in a way.
I love how my reverts or special tricks don't register to break my combo going for premier boards, even though I'm hitting the buttons perfectly. Just fn love it.
Not old just experienced this our time now I’m 29 I had the original and thps2 on the N64 now playing it on PS5 is ridiculous 🤯 kids don’t have the experience
This, and the other two videos in this “series”, are great! As someone who never got into THPS back in the day (because I stunk) and wanted to give it another go this time , this is very helpful. I am honestly amazed and confused by why this stuff is not covered in the tutorial (or game manual back in the day). This is the first time I’ve heard of double-tapping Square, Triangle, or Circle; maybe I am wrong and I missed it, but was that mentioned somewhere in any “official” THPS material? I would watch streamers pull off long, complex combos and think to myself, “Literally how are they doing that?” Like, I wished they had a cam on their hands/controller. Well, here you go. I am excited and anxious to go try this out. Good stuff.
I also get that a lot of this was not in the OG THPS, so they could not have had in the material. I will give them a pass on that. haha I still stunk regardless. But, double-tapping a face button never occurred to me. Also, minor note, I was not sure if I should be keeping X down for speed or not. So, I was glad to see you cover that in your first video.
Wow you actually covered quite a lot! I was watching this when I bought the game so I used your creator code. Thank you for making this important tutorial video!
dude what. how did i pass all those tony hawk games without knowing the double tapping trick transition thing. wtffff i was just trying it, the things u can do with manuals is insaaaaaane.
The kick flip was worth more than the double because you’d done so many double kick flips. The more you use a trick the less points you get for it each time.
7:35the score on the double kick flip is smaller because you have done more in the run. The more you use of a single trick, the lower the score you get out of it.
Could you please upload a park building tutorial showing how to use the mod pieces in detail? Like, I've played custom parks with amazing mega structures, snake runs and all, and yet, even though I've played every Tony Hawk game and have built many many parks over the years, I have no luck in the remaster figuring out how to build snake runs, multi level buildings, and such with the mod pieces
For years, since 1999, I've always held down triangle for grinds, and never once thought to release it. Even doing transitions in later games I'd uncomfortably keep triangle held while trying to hit the other buttons. I had no idea you could just tap it and maintain the grind.
I'm new to this franchise and I had no idea what I was doing but now I feel like a pro!! Thanks man you helped me enjoy this game way more than I did!!!
@@johnjames2162 i don't know man, THPS has just never felt right to me on anything other than a PlayStation d-pad, it's just easier and faster for me to make directional inputs, and it's not a game that requires analog controls or anything more than up down left and right. going from left to right on the d-pad is a shorter traversal than left to right on an analog stick as well
By the end of underground you have to combo around literally the whole course and the game does a great job of getting you better. So growing up with it helps. 😝
Hey jskeleton just wanna say thanks man I was 7 in 1999. And got the remaster and remember maps but my gosh I forgot like all tricks. Ur vids are my go to ones. So weird how some ppl remember maps and locations some remember tricks some all. But awesome vids man keep me up.
I started on ps1 before the dual shock so all my muscle memory is in the dpad. It’s crazy I can get killer 500000 to 1000000 scores with the dpad but when I use the analog I suuuucccckkkk.
I wasn't much of a Tony Hawk fan back in the day but I thought about revisiting and trying to get good at it since it was remastered. Thanks to your tutorial I am pretty damn good at it now. Thanks a lot
I have one problem how to jump better in the game ?. I don't know how to jump off a wall twice. For example, in Downtown I can't collect popcorn because I can't climb on that first awning, I also can't land another bucket of popcorn on the roof. Thanks
Can’t wait for skate to come out this shit is hard af to land tricks I literally don’t know what I’m doing wrong everyone just gets 500 700 to 1mill score as soon as the game starts pretty much 🤦🏾♂️
The game needs permanent internet or an update. It needs internet because the American version says it requires downloading the content, and the Arabic version says it requires an internet connection. I asked the store employee, he said to me, you need a permanent connection.
I never got to play the Tony Hawk games cause I was a skate kid but I have bought this and it’s so much more fun and better so it’s good to have someone helping with tutorials
