On todays agenda here at Camp Xbox is a review of the Original Xbox game Advent Rising, which is also backwards compatible for the Xbox Series X. A third person sci-fi shooter set in a world written by Orson Scott Card.
Good ol' Tommy Talarico theme song. I got to speak to him back when this was about to come out as we had a mutual acquaintance. The music in this game was fantastic.
This…this game was so good. In some ways I preferred it to Halo. And what a cliffhanger of an ending. This definitely needs a reboot or rerelease, or something. And to also finish the story! Good times and great memories.
We might have some hope, ziggurat studios owns the rights and I got an email from them a few months ago that implies that they are possibly doing something with it, personally my bet is on some kind of remake.
Hey dude, as an avid Xbox fan across all of their platforms and a big collector as well, I truly appreciate all of your videos. Your commentary is detailed and thoughtful and having the focus be on one of my favorite consoles of all time keeps me watching your content!
@@campxbox I have been on a binge that's why I'm commenting on an older vid 😅 but you have indeed inspired me to re-install a big chunk of stuff on my Series X. Original Xbox and 360 make up some of the bigger parts of my physical collection so Series X really has been such an awesome console. I love my PS5 as well but backwards compat is super important to me as a gamer and Xbox really are top tier for it. Plus all the improvements the games get are the cherry on top! I have my modded original Xbox plugged in at all times as well, great for the ones that never made it to BC! I run an mClassic upscaler through a Chimeric Cable (discontinued now, alas 😢) and OG Xbox games look downright amazing! Sorry for the ramble but thanks again for all the hard work put into your channel 🤘🏻
i just came across your channel by chance. I had remembered the hype around this game, was interested, then decided against it after the reviews came out. For some reason it popped in my head and i decided to dive deep into it and see what it was all about and here i am.
With that attitude ya.. We won't, which is why i need you and many others to help me find the people who made the first one.. To make the second one, or we'll make it
The current owners of the IP, ziggurat games, sent me an email about a year ago that slightly implies that they might do something with it. My bet is that if they do they would do a remake
@@sunofsotep8265 not that I know of. In the email they said that WHEN they have any news it would be on their social media. With the wording they used and the use of the word "when" heavily implies that they are working on Advent Rising in some manner.
I played this game a few months ago and I loved it. It did have some bugs and some weird parts but I enjoyed the colors and environment. Also you can make it first person if you want. The powers and combat we're also not too bad. When I first played the game I hated it and angry that I spent like 5 bucks on a bad game. I didn't want to be wastefull so I played the game the whole way and I liked it overall. It had a nice color pallete. It was pretty good honestly.
This was one of my first games ever, the potential with this is out of this world and I would pay whatever for a genuine remake lol. Honestly after playing it recently a lot of concepts and design choices still hold up today.
Oh, this reminds me a lot about a game I have been looking for. Must be from the same time. It was on the Xbox and PC, and only thing I remember Is a black clad guy with a triangle for a head of sorts. You might be the right person to ask for any Idea about it
this game wasnt allowed to move forward cuase if it did i would of changed the world of gaming in a positive manner all across the board.. and the hidden messages found in its glitches. far ahead of its time. sad
i cant recall but there was an xbox game with a plot about how society collected organs and you cant use a weapon unless it had special bullets that didnt damage organs, In one part you get arrested for damaging someone's organs, There was challenges like driving a car t a high speed and stuff. it was a TPS do you remember by chance?
