Rowing trips on the Orange river has long been one of my hobbies, I have done most of the river from Upington to Goodhouse, about 350km , and the 40 km from Klein Pella to Witbank is the most difficult part to navigate.
The river widens out and becomes an maze of channels and islands, and it is very easy to get lost and waste a lot of time to get through.
This trip is not extreme river rafting and none of the rapids can be called extreme. Yet it has enough fear factor to get some adrenaline going and the labyrinth created by the small islands make navigation a challenge.
