The bravest, and only, thing I have ever done to my hair without the assistance of a hairdresser, was to let it grow out to its natural gray/white. And I couldn't do that until I was 73 years old! Oh how I admire your bravery.

I started going white at the young age of 13 and now I just don't care. Its black with streaks of white or very light blonde and if I ever dye it I have natural highlights all over.

I'm honestly looking forward to that! My gran had gorgeous salt'n'pepper hair in her early 60s and I plan on absolutely rocking that! And then when it gets mostly white maybe I'll finally be able to do the crazy colours (my hair is very dark and doesn't bleach well).

@@harxmoond I wish you luck, if you ever decide, to go down that road ... just be prepared for a bit of a battle. White hairs can be very obstinate and unpredictable, when it comes to dying/retaining color. It's really not a bad idea, to leave dying them to a pro, if you're alming for anything but a uniform dark(ish) color. Damn little suckers 😉

It’s always safe to try on just the ends - you’ll see how your hair reacts and how it looks close to your face, but you can also just cut off the ends in the very worst case.

Colorful hair is DEFINITELY historical, two toned fun colors for hair were quite popular in the 1950’s and early 60’s. It’s a very specific time period but still not modern, and totally fits with your look. I love the colorful hair on you and I love to see other vintage and historical people with unnatural hair

I did the same. Completely destroyed my hair by over dying and bleaching it repearedly over the space of 2 years, had to have it all cut off into the shortest pixie cut possible. Fortunately the style suited me and my hair is now healthy once more and falls a long way past my shoulders, oh the terrifying adventures my hair has been on!

Lol my sister waaay back in high school turned her hair to melted plastic by bleaching. In her sophomore first semester, she bleached once to twice a week to color it a different color. From Aug to Dec. Just before winter break it literally all melted together. She went from waist length hair to chin length and has never grown her hair past that since. Been like 14 years

Me: in the process of bleaching and dying my hair green Angela: I BLEACHED AND DYED MY HAIR GREEN! Clearly I'm making good choices. Even tho I pretty badly damaged my hair cuz it's been so long since I've bleached my hair myself. But I knew that was gonna happen cuz I don't have patience. This makes me remember how much I dyed my hair a few years ago, and tried out so many different colors. My scalp is too sensitive to do it as aggressively as I did, but I really want to incorporate some colors back in my hair, even if it's just the ends. Your green hair looks gorgeous!

My hair is very similar (brown, silky, I only apply conditioner below my ears) and a couple years ago I home bleached it and dyed it pink with arctic fox and I cannot stress enough how much I adored looking in the mirror or looking down at the hair on my shoulder!!!! Especially once it faded into a pastel (I really love how arctic fox colors fade gracefully) and it was just so simply my dream color; I swear on another world I woulda been born with that shade of pink, it really made me so so so happy. I'm glad your hair is making you happy too!!!

I love all your hair colors. Hair dye is the best way to make changes that are not permanent as long as your careful with chemicals. I used to help my son dye his hair since 6th grade. I figured it hurts nothing and it will grow out.

As someone who has green hair. I relate so much and I think this color really looks amazing on you! I have found since I have thick hair, I normally put the hair dye on while my hair is towel dryed wet and I always cut my arctic fox with conditioner. I find it goes throu the hair easier and you use less bottles. A brand to try if you want, next is iroiro. They have a few greens from what i found and have texture that falls in the middle of lunar tides and arctic fox. 💚

I used to dye my hair consistently- I went lime green, hot pink, neon blue, any bright color really. But right now I have my natural dark brown hair, mostly because I don't want to accidentally dye any of my white clothes. But!! It's so tempting!! I have green as well! Its a crazy color but honestly I adore it and I've kept it for a very long time. If you ever move away from the color you will eventually struggle. I'd recommend going to blue and then purple, otherwise do the good old grow out method. The color is super gorgeous on you!

Translyvania is pretty potent. I don't bleach my hair and have a lot of white, so I just slather that all over the roots at the top and the back, and then run some Aquamarine through the sides and what would be the nape of my neck. I'm lazy and never section things. I miss some of the white but I just pretend they're intentional highlights. I love the green though of your hair. Green on me fades to something like lime jello. Probably because of the white. But you're right, color can be an amazing thing and completely change your outlook.

Your confidence just shines through in this video and your hair colour suits you so well. If you have to have boring hair colours for historical/vintage looks, get wigs :-D My own pandemic hair story involved me and a set of clippers and going from below bra strap length hair to a grade 2 all over... I now have my natural hair colour - including all the grey and white I had been trying to hide from for so long - and feel happier with how it looks in general.

I find I can dilute Arctic Fox with a pretty substantial amount of conditioner (silicone free) and still get vibrant color, and it makes it so much easier to work with. I think your green hair is great and is really charming combined with the retro styling!

I've used arctic fox for years and I agree that the consistency leads to using a full bottle if not more for even chin length hair sometimes. After years I now water down the dye, not much, maybe a few tablespoons at max. I've found this doesn't dilute the dye almost at all and it makes spreading it very easy and extends the bottle enough that I only need one to do my head. For context I used to have chin length hair, now I have hair about 3" past my shoulders and I don't use any more dye than I did before I used to add water. That being said, while I have done darker colors in the past, I now prefer pastel colors and that may skew the results. I've also used this diluting with water trick on multiple think dyes, and while the amount I can use to get the same or similar color pay off varies, it is almost fool proof.

I love the green on you! Super fun! I played with some different colors in my hair last year (and two years before that). My issue is, by the time I've got half of the bleach in my hair, I'm over it. It's fun! But I don't like a dye job taking five hours from start to finish. Of course, I was doing multiple colors on separate inch wide strands rather than blending them to make one color.

The green hair is EVERYTHING. I've also been taking out my 2020 stress on my hair - in December it was purple but faded, and I wanted a slightly darker purple up top and lighter on the ends, and so when I redid it at the beginning of January 2021 I decided, "Let's just put a little Transylvania in there, should be fine," but mine came out black as ink after adding no more than a tbsp into a whole bowlful of purple lmao When you mentioned using it - before you even said it went wrong - I said out loud to no one, "Oh NO GIRL DON'T TRUST IT"

I dyed my hair dark green to lime green over the summer and I loved it sooooo much. But like all of my fall/winter clothes are reds and oranges and all sorts of warm tones and I didn't want to clash so I dyed it back to grey. I like my grey hair but I LOVED my green hair. Come spring I might dye it back

Great color! My experience was with KB purple Manic Panic, because that’s what we had them. I just slathered bleach on with my hands, scalp to ends, it was fine. Did that for years to my roots, no problems. Maybe if you have a problem already you shouldn’t bleach, but my hair was fine. Now, I got grief from random strangers, with purple hair in the boondocks forty years ago…

I get so envious when I see other people able to get good results with Lunar Tides! Their colors are SO PRETTY, but they don't take/ stay well in my hair at all, especially compared to similar colors with Manic Panic :( I'm trying to work up the motivation/ energy to use up some of the orchid purple and lychee pink i got in their mermaid pack, but I too hate bleaching my regrowth (and I've been waffling about it for like 6 months now so there's a lot of regrowth lol). The greens look so pretty on you!! It was fun seeing this hair journey from you; I've liked seeing the different colors you've had in other videos, and I always like watching hair dye videos too!

Also with Semi or Demi color, the oil itself in your hair makes the dye fade. I am a big fan of Pravana Vivids. They leave the hair feeling nice. Also, Olaplex. Olaplex 3 treatments saved my hair when it went stretchy,

I admire your optimism through all those changes! And I don't think the colored hair clashes with your vintage style (green coat-mas, anyone?) I have a short pixie cut which can be distracting with 17th century or other historical styles, but if I need to balance my silhouette or present with historically appropriate hair, I just wear a wig! It's fun to transform completely (like Nicole Rudolph!)

I love your green! I do a lot of random colors in my hair and everytime I want to change color o wash in hot water and will occasionally use dish soap to help pull color out gradually. My stylist friend taught me the dish soap trick

This was so fun. I too destroyed my hair with dyeing in 2020. It wasn't as naturally thick and lovely as yours to begin with, so it got quite damaged (although pretty colours!) and on New Years I shaved it off!

I agree with colored hair as a pick me up. I have several chronic illnesses and a year ago I went with my dream hair color of dark rainbow! It really helped encourage me on rough days.
