I have NEVER seen that interior video before! Thank you! Now that I know the cargo bay is WIDE, I am confident it will be able to fit a small ground vehicle, which is usually a must for me! I am currently not very interested in pistol gameplay, but the Vulcan would make a very good expedition ship! With the ability to repair and refuel itself, it could give dedicated exploration ships a run for their money.
Honestly? If it's large enough to hold at least a small vehicle I probably get it just because it looks cool. Who am I kidding I'm gonna get it anyway. I just love that design!
Yeah, this is an 8 for me. Might go higher once in the verse. Its usefulness is really nice. I did not consider pairing it with an Ody, so nice catch. I was thinking this will be used to help repair abandoned ships. So if we get the ability to sell ships on a salvage license this ship is very important for money.
Yup, one ship that'll be hugely useful. Note that because it has a small cargo area it'll need constant replenishment runs to keep the gas, armor, ammo, etc. stocked.
I have the Vulcan as part of my Entrepreneur pack and love that little ship. Only problem is I also own a CCU from Vulcan -> Crucible, which I always wanted to operate in a remote destination. 🙈
I’d already decided this was a 100% own ship. It’ll sit on a pad of my Kraken for repair and refuel. My hope is I can launch the drones without even leaving the pad, meaning 2 crew for full repair ability. The Crucible is cool…. But it’s just too big to assign that much crew from your team. My understanding is I can repair fighters in the 2 enclosed Kraken fighter bays and use this, in a dream world on a small pad, but probably on a medium pad, to repair the Kraken and any other ships. I personally believe that the Crucible is being pushed when the Vulcan will repair and refuel good enough for anyone.
I think the hull will have a high HP as its a recovery support vehicle and the highest shield you'll apply to it gives you that bit longer of time to get in and get out just in time but stock shield will be low. That is my assumption, if you fit it out for military support you will get a high signature reading but stand longer BUT at a cost of maintaining it more so this should stop people slapping the best gear on it and other ships that won't focus heavy on combat zones. Industrial gear will be the common parts, drones sound great with range so you need to be within a specific area to keep them working so you cant drop in, drop drones, drop out and buy more making it "OP" This is my fleet 9: We're a small org doing salvaging, mining and security It will keep our industrial teams moving, our polaris might spend a little longer out in the darkness so some fueling might be needed to make that extra trip, not fully loading it up but enough for that extra jump. I doubt it will fit inside but I always love trying to scrape the paint. Once org gameplay comes, this ship will help out a lot when it comes to ships returning from tasks like dropships into combat zones, industrials refueling to make a safer jump to sell, and to meet up with patrol units to rearm and refuel.
You know, at concept I never really thought about it much because we didn't really have much info and so sizes were still seen as arbitrary and unlikely to bear out over the course of development. For me, because we didn't know how our larger ships that could NOT land at our terrestrial hangars would be managed, I wanted a way to resupply my larger ships. If the Vulcan retains its size and capabilities as we currently know them, it really does make a fine case for a long-term 'starter' ship. I'd put it in that same tier as the Spirit and Zeus Mk2 of full featured ships that open up wide swathes of gameplay.
The big question for me, which will determin its usefulness, is the extent of the repair functionality. Will it be able to replace a lost wing on a fighter? Will it be able to revive a ship from soft-death? How large of a ship can it repair? What its capabilities are, from fixing cosmetic skin blemishes to full replacement of destroyed parts of a ship's body over the vast range of Star Citizen ship sizes, is completely unclear.
looks like a lovely little new rock mining ship.. I only say that becuase some ships are preeettty annoying to fit a rock in witout spending loads or spendng ages getting it in the back... best ships i found good for roc minng is ofc cutlass black but meh tight fit to say the least.. 2nd one is the coarshair but shes pretty expensive tbh.. so ill like to see this one.. and it can refule restarm? no idea and repair.. the drones are intresting tho, becuase the carrack has drones and i still have NO idea what they will be used for lol.. or when we will ever get em.

I don't know where you got your stats but the Vulcan is listed at 39 meters. That's larger than a Freelancer (38m) but smaller than a RAFT (39.5). At time stamp 4:50 you said a Cutlass Red is bigger than it, a Cutlass Red is only 36 meters and the SRV, which you said is smaller, is 31.4 meters. I think you got it confused with another ship. As for fitting in the Odyssey, the current speculation on Reddit is that it will barely fit if put in diagonally.
The Vulcan is 38.5m in length, 16.5m beam, and 10m in height source: RSI website. Yes, half a meter lengthier and taller than the Freelancer but not as wide, and the wideness of the freelancer is what makes it larger when measuring cubic meters. It's a lot of math but the freelancer is indeed larger. So is the RAFT. And so is the Cutlass Red. The SRV is indeed smaller. My guess is you didnt do the math on the beam and height and assumed length was what made a ship "larger" or "smaller" easy mistake to make though. I appreciate you keeping me honest anyway.
@@billionaireninjas I got my stats and comparisons from "Starjump, Hanger Link" who works hand in hand with CIG. CIG has stated many times that they have had to reassess the sizes of ships. Heck, look how big the Spirit is for only 64scu, it's huge! That is another ship you should look at in Starjump. CIG states that many of their ships lately are far larger now due to inside dimensions being more realistic. For instance, the size of the Endeavor. If CIG were to make the ship to the specs of their original plans (multiple beds in the hospital, two Cuttys in the hanger bay, etc), the ship would be just slightly smaller than the Javalin. 😆

Repair may be the loop for you or perhaps medical. I would just get a CCU for now if you're not sure, to lock in the price. You can always melt it later. This ship is heavily underrated. You can definitely run it solo!
@@billionaireninjas I have an Apollo Medivac in my Fleet so medical gameplay sorted 👍. But yeah I love the idea of being able to repair and refuel as a solo so I'll definitely look to get this asap.
I Love the medivac! I would have one but just about every ship I own has or is getting a medbed. I may end up getting the set for my endeavor though...we'll see.
@@billionaireninjas I've got a pretty decent solo fleet and currently $190ish sitting in my account with a freelancer 6 month ins I can sell back at any time if I want to get something else. I have a 400i I'm tempted to CCU to the 600i Explorer or the Aquila as I've flown that and quite like it
Nice! If you like the 400i I would keep it for now but get a CCU to a 600i to lock in the price. Then once the upcoming 600i rework comes online then you can decide if you want the upgrade without paying the extra price.
No way. This ship will never fit in the Odyssey. The odyssey is made to carry a hornet size vehicle and this is way bigger. It will likely grow a bit in size before it comes out in game and so this will not be possible.
This ship is so ugly. Drake needs to make a sister ship to the Vulture that accepts its materials and does repair . We need a small repair refueler, rearmer. It doesn’t have to have drones
True story about the tow truck. I was in a Corsair with about 200k worth of cargo. In atmo. An NPC knocked off my pilot side wing and thruster and I couldn’t get it to fly. My buddy towed me to a station.
