Storing shoes in the small bag might be overkill, but for alternative functionality, I love using shoe compartments as a space to separate dirty laundry

Now the perfect bag for EDC and short travel. Don't underestimate the shoe compartment taking all the place, very useful for flip flop when going to the gym!
Considering getting the small one, got large, but the compression straps can be a drag. And the small looks just like the right size for one bag travel without sacrificing too much utility
I agree, and if you dont want to use the shoe compartment for its size you could use a Shoe Pouch, Aer sells them separately or the one from Peak Design.
Wow, stumbled upon this and I'm so glad! I'm 5ft tall.. a smaller aer bag is perfect for smaller people and I'm glad it still has a shoe compartment. Small people wear shoes too! 😂 I do agree it's excessively sized though
Nice! They finally added the false bottom! I think this might be the bag I have been waiting for. I just need to decide whether to get the 'small' or the new updated version of Aer Travel Pack 2.
@@LaserrSharp I have tried both. The Aer Travel Pack 2 is too large for my frame mid 5". The Aer Travel Pack Small on the other hand still feels big. It is not that much smaller than the normal size. And the Aer Travel Pack Small feels kind of bulky, maybe due to lack of straps to tighten it down as found in the larger one. It is good for what it's design for as a 'travel pack'. I can see using the Small for one bag travel on a weekend trip. It's too big for me to use as an everyday carry bag. Overall, it is a very well made bag.
@@LaserrSharp I need a smaller bag for now. So, I have returned it. I might get it again when they come out with a version next year. Still looking for a good alternative. xD

at least small loops where you could attach after market or separately sold compression straps.. stitching 4 extra small loops on the bag would surely not be a big job??!!
I tried this bag out and it didn’t work for me but not for the reasons mentioned. Honestly I’m surprised nobody is really mentioning this anywhere, but I found the zippers to be a rather clunky experince. Firstly, they all zip parallel to each other in the same direction, making it rather confusing to pull on the right zipper. Secondly, because the zipper pulls are so large and clunky, trying to open one compartment can often case the zipper to get “stuck” due to another zipper of another compartment getting in the way of the zipper path. To me, this was a dealbreaker.
Hi. I really appreciate the complete reviews, especially on your website. Can you say if the larger aer 2 will fit under a domestic airline seat? In particular, will it fit under an aisle seat? I'm looking for a bag that will work well for 1-3 days of travel and never have to be gate checked, specifically on a small regional flight. Thanks!
Hey sweenimal - when it comes to the Aer Travel Pack 2 fitting under the seat, it really depends on the airline you're traveling with and whether your bag is packed to full capacity as well. We also recommend checking with the individual airline that you're flying with for their personal item specifications. And although this feature is for carry-on, chances are if it's not carry-on compliant, it's not going to be personal item compliant either. The shoe compartment is ridiculous. Nice that it can be tucked out of the way, but just get rid of it. And 3.3 lbs. seems heavy for a bag this size. I have the OPPOSETHIS Invisible Carryon, and at 25 liters it’s a pound lighter (2.3 lbs.). That’s a big deal for me, especially when traveling internationally. It’s a nice looking, compact bag, but doesn’t call to me.
You don't have to use it for shoes. I use mine to store dirty laundry or other items I want to keep separated but with easy access (example hip belt), and it works great for that.
Pack Hacker Quick Hits So is it correct to say the 15 inch laptop pocket can fit some 15.4 inch laptops? That’s my only concern before pulling the trigger on this as I have a 15.4 inch laptop.

I know that it’s smaller now but do you think it would look funny on a petite 5’ person? I’m debating between the travel pack 2 small vs flight pack 2. I want an every day bag but with enough space.

Uuugghh 3.3 lbs for 28 liter pack?!?! Still too heavy for 28L pack 😐 they could've gotten rid of the shoe compartment and maybe combined the organisation compartment with the laptop section to make it more streamlined and lighter
@@PackHacker2 I just sold my Travel Pack 2 because of its size and weight so I'm on the lookout for a 25-28 liter pack. Might get Milligan Smith the Roll Pack which is size wise perfect for me! And it's lightweight and great looking pack 👍
Is the shoe pouch waterproof for people who exercise at the swimming pool and might want a wet clothes compartment away from their computer? If only it had compression straps to make it look skinny... it could be a great edc bag for daily commute.

Pack Hacker Quick Hits : would be grest if you can use : peak design packing cubes, tech pouch, dopp pouch and just use same pouches/packing cubes to have better feeling how much they fit.
I can't get over the price. Its $200. I'd rather spend the $230 for the full size aer travel pack 2. The bag is much too heavy for its size and has a useless shoe compartment unless traveling with only shoes and a dopp kit is your thing because that's almost all you'd get in there.

@@PackHacker2 there is literally only one review on youtube show casing the Aer 2 travel small..... Great review but its not a video. A good idea would be packing the bags with the same gear and show casing its function and differences... or even transferring the gear to the other bag. love the channel. thanks guys.
