The OG is still better than Rebirth in Rebirth it was ambiguous they still gave you the benefit of the doubt of her being dead or alive removing the feeling grief and loss.

I just wish they seperate the scenes or make it like a last minute realization instead of mixing two scenes, mixing the illusion makes people confuse. And the water burial is iconic to be skipped

Cloud is the only one can see aerith Due to mako poisoning he experience before, It means either its aerith manifesting herself using life stream, Or its jenova assuming aerith form to manipulate cloud. Who knows maybe shes not dead after all.

They didn't even show her dying in the Remake. It got me all confused. Is Aerith alive or not? 😂

OG is just perfect, with the music and the melancholy of the scene, not being cut by the characters banter, it hits different. In this new version feels like they are puting more emphasis in Cloud's broken mind; and not only that, he can be totally aware of her demise, after all he tells Barret the he "can handle it", that an Red sencing her presence could mean that she's a ghost.

Ah, can you feel it? That familiar cringe only Kingdom Hearts fans truly know about. Rebirth version is like a nervous person trying to give an important speech to a lot of people and then breaking down into spitting only nonsense.

Is the point of this to make the player feel like they are also losing their grasp on reality just like Cloud is? A bold choice if this was intentional.

the new one i feel is what square enix is doing now. Making everything edgy, mysterious, trippy and kinda like kingdom heartish. Where it works for kingdom hearts it doesnt for other games. Im glad i didnt waste my cash on this. Ill just play the original. Cloud sounds like a legit schizo straight up when in the original it was more hidden.

I must admit that until the end I somewhat accepted the stuff they added.. but this scene, holy crap.. as many have already pointed out, it's confusing and it lacks of all the emotion the OG transmits. And Cloud reaction is so unnatural, it seems like he doesn't feel anything. Apart from the tears, after the death he is calm, maybe because he can see her? I don't know, but even if that's reason something seems off, maybe because of all the battles between the scenes that dilute the feeling of loss and mourn for Aerith. Another explanation that came to my mind is that Cloud is not 100 % aware of what happened yet because of Sephiroth's influence in his mind. In any case, I'm really sad that they decided to skip the water burial scene and the famous Cloud's speech: "Shut up. The cycle of nature and your stupid plan don't mean a thing. Aerith is gone. Aerith will no longer talk, no longer laugh, cry...... or get angry......What about us...... what are WE supposed to do? What about my pain? My fingers are tingling. My mouth is dry. My eyes are burning!"

FF7 > FF7 Remake/Rebirth

The scene where Aerith wakes up is the alternate timeline where everyone else is dead none of the others where there look at glowing rainbow around them there are two scenes that play at the sametime her getting stabbed and cloud stoping sephiroths sword from stabbing her.

Was playing through the first part of the remake, didn't know anything about FF7. Awesome to have this spoiled because of RU-vid recommended it.

Even after watching it several times, I think the rebirth version is much better. Rather, the original is so concise that it feels like it's just passing by, but Rebirth at least explained it in detail. Even from what I see, most people who say the original is better seem to have strange memory corrections. It's definitely a representative scene from Final Fantasy 7, but it's too concise and feels like it just passed by. I think it's nothing but madness to underestimate any touching scene just because the rebirth isn't 1:1 the same as the original. Just like sending toxic tweets to Nojima, it's just madness. If the original is good, you just have to stay stuck in the original. The developers of the remake started developing it thinking of it as a sequel, so of course the story and subsequent directing are bound to be different.

Frankly, the death of the squirrel from Baldurs Gate's dark urge run made me much more sad than this stuff, which left me totally indifferent. in the original it was really beautiful (leaving aside some bullshit like the Seplhiroth without the gloves or the floor that changes) in its being fast, brutal and above all true, the original dialogue between Cloud and Sephiroth is wonderful and obviously in the remake it didn't have to be there put the multiverse/timeline bullshit on

Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth literally make use of those words. Remaking the storyline in the first part of the game which lead to the rebirthing an alternate story on the second part. The way the death scene is make with some coloration of the background as if it's within a dream-like sequence. So 50/50 chance if she died or not.😅
