I've had a 6 ARC for about a year now. If you like light recoiling long range shooting this is the perfect cartridge. 500 yards is boringly easy. Ammo is very limited unless you reload, but it's Hornady ammo so it's okay

I assembled a 16" barreled 6mm ARC using a Santan Tac matched receiver set. Now I'm no long-range expert, but the 6 ARC allowed me to make consistent hits at 500 meters easily. I've just assembled a Radian build kit in 6 ARC with a 12.5" barrel. Looking forward to stretching it's legs.

Fun fact sound travels at roughly 370 yards per second and if you use that knowledge you can verify that Eric is shooting out to 300 since it takes nearly one second for the sound of the steal ping to make it's way back to him from the time the bullet strikes the plate. Actually learned this on the history channel on an episode of "Shoot Out' with an Iraqi insurgent sniper. The Marines would start counting when they saw bullet impact and how ever many second it took for the gun shot to report they'd multiple it by 370 yards and have a rough estimate on how far the shooter was.

I built a 6arc using m4e1 set and faxon barrel if irc. Threw an atn xsight2 5x20 on it. Needs good glass buy it had no problem smacking a standard steel silhouette at 840yrds

I am really just getting into the 6 ARC and I think it’s becoming my favorite caliber. I’m also fairly new at the art of handloading so I’m really wanting to dig in and find the best 6 ARC loads. It seems like a sweet spot in terms of power, velocity and riding the wind for long range. After being a 6.5 Grendel fan for a very long time I’m starting to see the advantages of going with 6mm bullets. There are so many to choose from it’s become a really fun loading project.

I’ve had my 6arc with an Odin Works 21 inch barrel up and running for two years now, and it is by far the greatest cartridge I have ever used in all my decades of shooting and there is very little out there that I haven’t shot yet. GP11 7.5x55 swiss was my favorite for twenty years but for SE Georgia whitetail and coyotes I’m hard pressed to find anything with the 6arc dead right there performance at several hundred yards. I hope this post helps someone.

I just built one using the same barrel as yours. I'm curious to know which handguard you're using. I'm using the Geissele mk18 rail and the gas block that came with barrel was too big. I ended up using a low profile non-adj gas block. I've yet to stretch this build out past 550y. It makes 500 too easy. Hoping to stretch it to a 1000 in the next month or so. We're getting hit with a lot of rain this year in Commiefornia 😂😂

Really enjoyed shooting 6arc in my 20” SCR build, consistent hits at 600 were super easy even with my cheap 3-9x40. Now I’m looking for a better scope to really reach out with it.

I love my 6 mm ARC AR from an Aero kit. It has shot sub-MOA on every 5 shot group that has been shot for record. The last time out it was 0.93 MOA with a cold barrel and Hornady Match ammo. I switched to Hornady Black and shot a 0.63 MOA 5 shot group. It’s a very good shooting rifle.

Fellas, 300 yards is a chip shot and that’s an awful lot of misses. Something is up with that setup, especially considering there is front and rear support. It should be point and shoot

Crap trigger. Not the best trigger pull technique, either. Going from trigger reset to immediately pounding the trigger, an accurate shot does not make. On top of that, he never adjusted his point of aim to hit more center mass. Almost all his impacts were high. Better trigger discipline and a dope correction would have made all impacts on steel, easy. Especially on a 3 MOA target like that.

I've used mine for 2 seasons in PRS. Absolutely love this cartridge. Handloading with extruded powders like varget or vihtavouri you aren't going to get high velocity when using heavy bullets but you will still have good kinetic energy at distance. Better than .223.

I really hope that Federal releases 6mm ARC GMM. Also, my buddy and I, hit a 6” plate @450yds with ease with our 6 ARC builds. It’s a great round that the military should have looked harder into instead of adopting a whole new weapons platform with the M5 Spear.

There will always be pouter, crybabies, and naysayers. Personally, for the price of a barrel and bolt it has been one hell of a fun cartridge. Reloading is part of the challenge/fun. Worse case scenario and it doesn't work out? No problemo, new barrel and bolt, and I'm off and gunning.

Awesome setup! Love my Aero stuff. My favorite Aero build is a 6.5 Grendel build that Chris @MADcustom Cerekoted Magpul foliage green. It’s been quite the deer slayer the past few years. Thanks for sharing this 6MM Arc Aero build. Might have to take a shot at that caliber some point in the near future.

Flooding the market with so many cartridges is just contributing to ammo shortage across the board. Can't get 6.5 Grendel ammo among others but yet ammo companies will start producing some new bullets that hardly anyone has a firearm chambered for.

I’ve been thinking about a 14inch 6 ARC with 1-7 twist but ammo is so hard to find. Hornady is the only manufacture creating ammo at this point and that makes me uncomfortable pulling the trigger on the build. I haven’t starting hand loading yet so it would be nice to buy bulk until I purchase all the equipment

Personally, if you arent handloading yet i wouldnt pop on the 6arc just yet. This caliber isnt going to go any farther than where it already is. Not enough support from other companies

Love the optic but there is one test you guys never put a Arken optics through . When you buy Arken optics the side of the box says .50 bmg rated . I have still yet to see anyone put one on a .50 you guys should be the first to do it

@@andrewstoll4548 i could see it bein a good option if you wanted a dedicated varmint/predator gun in an AR15 package. But thats a pretty small target audience, as most predator hunters run bolt guns in 22-250 or 243win. Those two are the kings and the 6arc aint dethroning them. Its a good round but it doesnt bring enough to the table. Especially since you virtually MUST handload if you want to shoot it. I thought about it at one time but i have too many AR calibers as it is. Lol.

@@andrewstoll4548 no it won't. Hornady built the 6ARC on a request from a certain branch of the military. Since it's been released it has been a huge hit and very little bad things said about it. ATM Hornady is the only manufacturer for ammo but when it was released Covid was also in full swing. Manufacturer's is behind on everything and hopefully some more manufacturers hurry up with new ammo offerings.

I remember that Chad or both of you put alot of work into the 224 valkyrie. Did you guys plateau on that or what? I've given up on mine. Its great and everything but I haven't been able to get that promised land of the 90 grains to sub moa. I have great loads developed for 77grn tmk and thats about it. Some luck with the 80gr Barnes. I have two sub moa loads for the 77 and one cherry picked load for the 80 that doesn't like hot or cold weather 🤔. Ive spent countless hours (and money) trying to work up anything above 80 grains to get 1moa. I dont think its possible. Ive tried three different barrels, a Ballistic advantage, a white oak and a faxon. All 22" and the last 2 are 6.5 twist. Im happy with what I've got for the 77grain. Its faster than a 223 77gr and shoots flat and hits where I point it but its not what drew me to start with this in the first place. Anyways I was wondering if you were ever able to get those heavier bullets to settle down for a reliable load.

I have 3 Valks one 1/7 twist 2 1/6.5 I've had SUPER results with all of them. Even the 90's & 95''s didn't key hole with 1/7. The 6.5 throw even 50 gr vmax very well. I take them pdog shooting. Killing dogs to 400. I'm so sorry you've had trouble!!!! My best load for 6.5 are 85 nosler RDF pushed with 2000mr. They Chrono & 2875 fps. PP Varmint also works very well in all weights. What powder are you using

@@224valk4 sounds awesome! Well I've tried cfe223, blc-2, benchmark, superformance, tac and 4166 that I can remember. I think maybe 748 or 760 and rl17 too but I'd have to check. I mean nothing has really been atrociously horrible, just can't seem to get the heavier bullets to stay sub minute. I could cherry pick some nice groups and say I've done it but can't repeat it reliably. The only reliable thing seems to be the faster I push them the worse it gets with random flyers and most but not all groups open up slowly as velocity increases. I guess I haven't completely given up yet, I still have a couple boxes of 85 grain match burners, still have a few hundred fresh starline cases. Maybe I'll order some of the vlds if I can find, I tried the 85 grn hybrid target. I'll keep my eye out for those two powders just try something fresh.. now you got me wanting to go to cabelas lol. So far I've got my best load is the 77gr tmk with tac. Those will shoot straight every time as long as I do my part and I can rely on them no doubt. I should really be happy with that I suppose.

Of course work up for safety! 90 SMK'S WITH RELOADER 17 85 RDF WITH 2000MR 80'S & 90'S WITH POWER PRO VARMINT 95'S WITH BOTH RELOADER 27 & 2000MR LEVER EVOLUTION HAS WORKED WITH HEAVIES SUPERFORMANCE JUST A COUPLE RECIPES NOT MUCH LUCK WITH CFE 223 EXCEPT 77'S H 4895 has also worked on 90's Good luck, I'm sure my Wilson Combat's help! Both 6.5 twists have shot numerous .3 moa

Since 6mm ARC and 6.5 Grendel share the same mag, may be someone could talk Magpul into some PMAG's ? The mags are the greatest failure for these calibers.

James ES44AC -2 the pmags won't work they would be to thin from what I read about them.i personally use ar stoner built pacifically for 6mm arc they have a red follower and work flawlessly.

How did you get one from Brownells??? I had one on order for 8 months until they emailed me telling me it was no longer available. No problem, It was about the same time Biden was railing against ghost guns, so now I have a ghost 6mm ARC. Not sure why Brownells didnt deliver tho.

y'all have done experiments on a lot of calibers even air rifles why not the 17 HMR y'all should trick out a 17 , i'd take a head shot on hog at 100 yrds with the 17 hmr it's my do all caliber like fine tuned 22
