Aero Precision Ultra Light AR-15 Scope Mount 

Great video, I purchased a AP mount for my 18" dmr and love it. It is light weight and rock solid.

This mount is ridiculously solid!! There is zero movement. The whole side clamps the rail. Recommended 100%. Fit and finish is incredible and of course super lightweight

That's a great deal for that mount. For such a small price point I wouldn't expect that high of quality

For less than $90, that's not bad at all and a good looking mount.

It works perfect with a scope and with the iron sights on the PTR 91 rifles.

Well...I was looking at my RU-vid homepage, watched a few videos..did see much I liked. I though "dammit, I wanna watch a sootch video!" And men, I'm glad I did! I don't even own a AR, but I still had more fun watching this, then other video I could find, tonight! Awesome video, big fan!

Sootch, I like the scope mount, and I realy like the fact that if comes with a torque driver to prevent over torqueing of the torqx screws. However I am old school, Chairman Jeff Cooper always preached against using allen key heads on the screws he didn't even like phillips screws, in that it adds another level of tools to field maintenance. For thirty years I have made it a point to only use carry screws on my weapons that work with my Leatherman tool, so I guess what I'm saying is get Areo to include all the screws in both Torqx and standard blade. the cost should be fairly small.

Thanks for the review. I've been looking at adding a scope (using a TRS-25 red dot) and couldn't believe the weight of some of the mounts. I did see this one for sale. I might still just go with rings (don't see why not) but if I get a mount it would have to be this one.

I've had good luck with Aero Precision products they make quality parts at a great price! Looking forward to the QD mount as well! Great video as always I love watching them!

Not only the lightness, but I don't think, you would have to align your scope rings.

Unless you have something crazy solid, you shouldn't have your mount on the rail. That's actually the point of the cantilever mount.

Are you able to remove this mount w/optic and reinstall it and still keep your optic zero & POI?

I purchased the same model but mine looks different than yours.... Mine doesn't have the lines in between the rings like yours. Weird.

Your back up rear sight is pretty useless with that mount unless you carry a Allen wrench

Hey Sootch, I really respect you and have watched your videos for years. But if you still have that Duck Creek Armory lower, I'd take that bad boy off. Alot of people have gotten ripped off by that company and some of your viewers might have a little bit of animosity that you still have that lower in your videos.

Use a leupold ultra-light FX2 2.5x20mm with that. That's under 10 ounces for a scope and mount, 9.48ounces to be precise. Find an light weight 300 blackout barrel, run a carbon free float tube, ACE ultra light stock... You might just make a sub 6lb scoped hunting AR15.

So placing the mount so close to the flip-up sights, how would you use them then if for whatever reason the time comes? As a matter of the fact, how fast could you get the scope mount off the weapon to use that flip-up sights? Would you consider mounts that allow easy removal instead? Better yet, if you don't mind being a bit of the mall ninja, get an easy take-off mount and mount this mount on THAT mount.
