The Aerobee program produced about a dozen models, and lasted from 1947 to 1985. The rockets where made by the Aerojet General Corp, the Aerobee 350 used a cluster of four standard Aerobee 150 motors. The Aerobee 350, the last and largest of the family of solid-fuel boosted liquid-propellant. As you can see this specimen lacks its booster at the White Sands Missile Range Museum.
The first test with a live booster and dummy upper stage took place at Wallops Island on 11 December 1964. Rocket main use was for the undertaking of short-term scientific experiments in the upper atmosphere.
It could launch payloads of 150-500 pounds, up to altitudes of 294 to 207 miles, and was designed to give instruments a "soft ride " or as soft as you can get with that amout of thrust coming out of the backend.

Rocket weight is over 3.5 tons, plus the payload of 400+ pounds of instruments fit inside the 22 inches in diameter Aerobee 350, for a dual-purpose engineering-space science mission.
John H. Lane, NASA Aerobee 350 Project Scientist, said a prelimhary examination of vehicle data indicated the rocket's performance was very close to predicted 60,000 pounds thrust.
Liquid-fueled Aerobee 150 motors have a sea-level thrust of 4,100 pounds. There are four working together in the Aerobee 350. They burn for about 52 seconds as the solid-fuel Nike booster, thrust of 52,000 pounds will burn for 3.2 seconds and drops away.
