Honestly, I just don’t see why someone would spend the money on this versus a Miele. They’re the same price point but a Miele just seems like such a better value; idk how they’re still in business

Yeah and it doesn’t have manual carpet height adjustment like the Miele nozzles do. And what do these sell for? Like $2500?

Definitely one of the better features! It is amazingly quiet the power nozzles louder than the Vacuum motor. Thanks for watching my friend.

These were sold in Australia as the Sauber si200 $1699aud and SE400((painted gold)but had the et1 power nozzle at cost of $2300aud. Filters are still available for sale here in Australia. Happy to send you link for them if you still require.

Bullet points to your review. -hose placement is crucial to the centrifugal air intake of the bag, that’s why it’s not been changed. - lux royal is still rooted in original Electrolux just not USA, so it’s not a rebadged machine like Eureka did for Walmart and called it a GE. - rear wheel placement is there to make the unit easier to stand in its by tugging upward on the hose. - bags are small but can be filled to brick capacity w/out losing suction. - I’ve owned Miele canisters and they do not include a sidekick , their dusters and upholstery tools are small and cheap nowadays. - plastic wands are creeky after they’ve been worn in for years like the one u demoed. They are still lightweight and made out of durable lexan. - if u used the auto feature with the sidekick u would get less brush roller drag. - all swivels leak some, not critical when your machine pulls this much suction, your numbers in the video are not indicative of today’s model or one that has just came out of the box. - IMO u can’t beat this bare floor tool, but it did behave a little better when it had horse hair bristles. - cord length is 27ft, substantial for any machine, most reels are under 25ft. - hose on the platinum is 7ft vs the shorter hoses on the Legacy and Classic. - bags and filters are available all day long on their website store and a few knock offs on Amazon. - I sold these for year’s and made a lot of customers very happy, so GTFO is a little harsh. There are a lot of people that are completely unaware of a quality vacuum and need it brought to them in their home to understand.

Thnx for reviewing this Aerus. Seems like Aerus is on its own somewhat weird product trail - really long body, tiny little bag, creaky wand, etc. Floor tool seems identical to my parent's Electrolux XXX / L models.

A lot of collectors really seem to love these, I do too, but I can never find one for a half decent price. I do love how quiet the power head is on these compared to the older models.

I own two of them. I love them. I also own a Sebo D4 PREMIUM. I love my D4 as well but that being said I prefer the Aerus Electrolux attachments over the Sebo. Sebo makes a very good power nozzle the ET-1. No denying that whatsoever. In fact there's no denying that Sebo makes a better power head than Aerus. However, I wish Sebo offered a motorized sidekick instead of a turbo tool and a longer hose. Both my Platinums have the 12ft hose option which I prefer. There are pros and cons with both the Platinum and the D4. I have two friends of mine who sell both brands. The only gripe I have with the Platinum is the small bag size compared to the Sebo and the plastic wands. The Classic wands are more functional than the plastic wand setup but excell when it comes with the sidekick. The ET-1 on my D4 is ideal for tight areas and I also appreciate that Sebo offers an extra attachment kit with a 9ft hose. I wish it was electrified also like their electrified hose that comes with it. So between the two I would choose the Platinum over the Sebo and if I'm a windmill brained moron for disagreeing with this then so be it. I've been in the cleaning field for over 30 years and yeah Aerus may make some things I may not like but that's where you have other brands to fall back on depending on your cleaning situation but in the end I find myself back to Aerus and yes I hate the name btw but not necessarily the product. Per your recommendation I bought the D4 and I also own a Felix. Felix is an amazing upright I find myself using it more than my D4. It's all about preference and functionality for any cleaning setting and having the right tool for the right job makes all the difference especially in my line of work.

I had a Sebo D4. There were mango things I love about it, but using it was not one of them. I got an E3 to replace it, and again it felt awkward to use - it’s the thick tapered hose I hated. I love my Sebo uprights, and I use them semi-frequently.

Way back about 10+ years ago, I had an Aerus dealer come out to my apartment for a "free" in-house tuneup of my grandmother's Olympia One which I got from her estate. He showed off this model and it had a selling price of $1,800 back then (at least I think it was that much). I laughed and later bought a Miele and then replaced the Miele with a Sebo. It looked old-fashioned even 10 years ago and was heavy!

A better machine to pick up online or at a local Habitat or Goodwill would be a Lux Classic as there’s no attachment adapter and you can easily find aluminum wands online to work with them. I suggest using the modern diaper bag HEPA style C bags. They’re less complicated machines and parts are more widely available

From Europe we only had Miele in Mexico a good cleaner but 2 times more expensive than Europe also Dyson and Miele but on stick cleaners also we had a bunch of Chinese brands mainly stick vacuums. Market it’s moving slow to stick cleaners. And looking for an every year more powerful stick vacuums I think we are going to a smaller cleaning appliances using high power Lithium ion battery and better or let’s say just better looking motor nozzle.

I sold them during the 90's when it was still Electrolux. I sold many of the original Renaissance machines, then became the Guardian. Good machines but the hoses were always were way too short and ridiculously overpriced

I have always been fond of my Epic 8000, especially after I found eVacuumstore selling a pretty nice synthetic HEPA bag for them. I just like them. With the original Epic motor they were pretty weak, but recently I replaced it with a new motor from Electromotor Inc, their 6800-298. It is a drop in replacement for the original motor. I doubled my measured airflow at the hose end from 33 cfm to 66 cfm. Some places are selling that motor for as much as $375 but Lighthouse Motors in Arizona sells them for $105.

It’s always good to have friends in the business in any business. That’s how my parents bought their Kirby for $125 when they retailed for $500 in 1973 and I still have it in a closet upstairs though it’s seldom turned on. Good connections are how I furnished my house.

Owned one briefly. Bought for a bargain price due to a loose wire in the handle. Once repaired it was such a disappointment. As you have said with the maneuvering and the hose. Tiny bags and it felt so cheap. The metal collected dents and when you parked the foot into the underside slot, it looked like the plastic was about to break. I dumped it because I got it for so little and absolutely hated it.
