I love Aesop! Have used for years & some some key products I keep re-buying time and time again. Agree that some products can be a bit expensive for what they are and other alternatives can be used, maybe that some products in their skincare line could be given a bit of a refresh/update also (exfoliant, etc.).
Hey man thank you for watching, and I totally agree with you. I love their brand and packaging but I think they could work on the formulation of some of the products to take them to the next level and justify the prices they are charging xx
Would definitely want to warn people that almost ALL of their products are fragranced. I've been using their handwashes for a couple years now (I truly love a subtle aromatic wash-off product, so I plan to try their coriander body cleanser as well), but most of their facial skincare products have essential oils in them. Obviously not all EOs are bad, but so many are highly unstable when exposed to oxygen or sunlight, and can cause irritation for people who aren't normally sensitive. Again as someone who really appreciates the therapeutic benefits of nice smells, it's hard to swallow but their facial oils are basically just a mix of many types of EOs with little proven benefit to the skin. I'm surprised you've given the face oil anything above 5/10. Excited to try the gentle milk cleanser though... thanks for the video!
Bought my first Aesop products heading back to the states from Melbourne (tip: the Melbourne Airport store is the only one that has a slight price reduction - and US Dollars to Aussie Dollars gives another slight discount, if you are ever there! After Covid... lol). My skin was messed up from months of traveling, lots of dry climates and sunburn, eeek. The woman at the shop fixed me right up, recommended the Camellia Seed moisturizer to sort out my face and that would translate well to the cold climate back home, and the Parsley Seed serum at my request for a serum. I LOVE both, and just ordered the Parsley Seed toner which I've tried and also love and one of the cleansers to test out. When I have the extra money I also will be getting the damascan rose facial treatment which is also gorge, in my opinion. Brand is very expensive but the gems are really worth it, for me at least! Skin has never been more soft and pampered! Loved your honest feedback :) :)
Love their products. Shampoo & conditioner are amazing. Toothpaste is an expensive treat, but if most of your bathroom is Aesop, might as well complete the aesthetic. Pricey, but if you care about your skin it’s worth the costs IMO
@@kimberlyrome5005 the shampoos are specific to hair types. I have curly/frizzy hair and this seems to tame it, treats dry scalp, and provides it with a nice sheen to it. Looks healthy. Recently slept over a friends house and used other products. You can absolutely feel the difference.
@@aldi9802 well, if you’ve been on the site, seems like there’s a shortage due to limited materials. I went to Oribe for the curly haired line (green bottles), similar pricing and don’t have to hunt them down from different places. Very happy with the results. Also helps to know your hair type for appropriate shampoos, conditioners, masques, and brushes
An Australian here! I love Aesop, but I do tend to stick with their body items rather than their skincare. I really love their toothpaste and mouthwash (very instagramable!) Rose by any other Name cleanser is my go to! Hand washes look fab in any bathroom and kitchen. Resurrection hand balm is also fab!
I’ve tried the 1) Cleansing Masque, 2) the Antioxidant eye serum, and 3) the Hand balm. I have dry, sensitive skin and I live in an oppressively humid climate 1) I do love clay masks for the at tight feeling but for regular use, I can see this only working for oily skin 2) I don’t really need an eye cream/serum but it’s silky and light so it works well under eye makeup 3) Very moisturizing and in line with other hand balms around this price point. Very similar to the Davines Oi Hand Balm but Takes a bit longer to dissolve. Great texture for drier climates or drier skin in normal-humid climates
Was planning to buy their hand wash only when i went to their store but i end up buying their body balm and serum as well. The packaging is just very nice.
You are so right about the packaging! It’s very much the go-to bathroom counter decor for a lot of interior designers here in Australia. I’ve even seen empty bottles for sale on Facebook market place 😆 cringe. But you’re right, they are very aesthetic and quite a lot of brands here have tried to mimic the design but haven’t quite pulled it off.
Thanks for this, I use quite a few of their products particularly the in two minds range, Damascus facial oil and their anti blemish masque but the price point does make me think I should look for something as effective without the huge price tag
Oh i need to try their blemish mask it looks great.. I know what you mean, they are expensive but something about the brand just keeps me buying again and again xx
The anti-blemish masque is really good, its a basically a clay masque without the hassle of having to make it yourself, I found it to be really helpful with reducing clogged pores, and just helps with having a smoother texture, it's in a jar and it feels like it will last a while
I love trying skincare products, I just saw they opened a store in bcn so will try the antioxidant you just mentioned and the shower gel 😊 the only thing that makes me worry is that my skin is very sensitive. But that’s the risk when trying new brands 🙃
Love the hand wash, hand balm, hand sanitiser, rose body cleanser, geranium body scrub and geranium treatment oil. Would never use Aesop on my face, far too much fragrance/essential oils for my skin! Fab video as always x
Thank you so much for your comment and for watching.. Totally agree, their fragrance is what makes the brand so epic but I don't think it makes it good to use on the face so I tend to stick to the body products too.. xx
Hey hun thank you for your comment.. I haven't smelt the geranium one but i love love the smell of the flower so i am sure i will love it.. Im going to look out for it next time i go shopping and have a sniff xx
I'm so out of the times apparently cause I've never heard of this brand. Lol. Seems a bit on the expensive side but I definitely want to give the body wash a go. I absolutely love rose smelling stuff as long as it smells like a rose garden and not fake. My favorite of all time. I've been using the Dove rose soap for years and years and its kind of my signature scent.
OMG hun if you love Rose this will be your dream body wash.. Your right it is a little on the exoensive side but you get a good sized bottle of product and it does last a fair amount of time.. Hope everything is wonderful with you x
This i think is the issue with the brand.. If they were just that little bit cheaper it would be easier to justify.. The body was scent is gorgeous though if you ever see it in a shop have a quick sniff xx
Love their lip cream, it’s really is a cream. I know a lip balm would be much cheaper, but when my lips feel dehydrated, just a balmy/oily layer on top it’s not enough. so lip cream + lip balm!
I already use the hand washes for years even the exfoliating hand wash which I love. I want to try the big Body Cleansing Slab in the shower and the rose cleanser ;)
Oooh I would love to know what you think about it as I have been meaning to try it for so long but it was out of stock when I tried.. Thank you so much for sharing and I cant wait to hear your thoughts xx
IKOU is another great australian brand, I'd love to see a review of them/ hear anyone elses experiences! Similarly they have really beautiful natural smells although softer. I've been using the baobab face oil for forever, its THE one.
I've been using the mandarin face cream and I absolutely love it! Its the perfect consistency for me, very hydrating and so light weight. I have normal/combo skin. expensive but Its a staple imo
Hey, great question. Its not advertised as being non pore clogging but I cant see anything on the ingredients list which would suggest it would clog. I have never had any issues and I have very oily skin. Hope this helps and loving your channel so much xx
@@MadAboutSkin Awesome. I have pretty oily skin too, so struggle to find things that don't make me break out. Made the mistake of coconut oil once before - never again. Thanks for the heads up. 😍
Thank you. Was considering this for my mum and I but if it doesn't actually work then ... yeah I'd rather go to the derm to deal with melasma and PIH issues.
Mad About Skin I have used three of their lines which is Orchidee Impereale, Abeille Royale and Super Aqua. I love their marketing’s ne obviously the beautiful packeting. However, I’m tired of paying up to $500 for cream. I was wondering which of the lines is with it in terms of using long term and taking in consideration how much they cost.
Hi, could you possibly recommend me a deodorant/antiperspirant that doesn't stain clothing? I like the 'stick type roll-ons' been using Dove men+ clean comfort antiperspirant, but unfortunately it is prone to leaving stains in the arm pit area. I've been told to avoid the ones with aluminum salts? Which is what brought me here. To Aesop's deodorant roll-on, apparently it ticks all the boxes. Though it has Zinc ricinoleate included in the list of ingredients 🤷♂️ and £23 for a 50ml roll-on, is a bit on the pricey side. So if you have any advice/recommendations, it would be much appreciated... Sorry about the long-winded question 😅
Great review. I've been trying to learn more about the ingredients I put on my face and Aesop puts an obscene amount of fragrances in there, but the scent they carry + the packaging really sell the brand.
I am so glad you enjoyed the review hun and thank you so so much for watching.. I love the brand but I do think they could tone it down a little with the fragrance lol.. sending lots of love xxx
I haves used both AESOP & Necessaire body wash and I agree they are both overhyped. Nuetrogena delivers the same results and you get more product for your buck.
I discovered AESOP about 10 years ago when I travelled to Australia. At the time it was only in Australia, New Zealand and a few Asian Countries. For what you get, it is overpriced and basic. Especially since they've brought their products to North America and Europe, their prices are out of control.
I have my own RU-vid channel too about Skincare and healthy diet.. if you really want to keep your body fit and glowing skin. Please check out my videos.
Hi hun, i used to use it all the time and it always worked well so i hope you love it as much as i did... Let me know what you think of it... sending you lots of love xxxx
Thank you for this vides its really helpful .. can you please check LA BRUKET brand .. i think they are similar right? I didn’t used Aesop yet but its my next gaol cuz i like change my skin care routine after while ..^_^
I am not seeing anything special whatsoever about that packaging. I enjoy Molton Brown: rhubarb and rose hand-wash , glass bottle, and their hand lotion.
