When Eddie said SM is is the only company that can make this concept work I agree 100%. They create concepts that ahead of our time. Like when NCT debuted the concept is something no one else was doing. I think SM just resets kpop culture and pushes it to a different level.
not gonna lie..i think all the budget were invested in aespa...and i must say its worth it, these girls are refreshing, classy felt like they reset the SM game.. ireally love ningning..
Well if thats the case, it doesn't matter these girls are blowing up, and they're slowly inch by inch going to take over the Kpop industry, I can feel it.
@@MOMO-xx1yy Looking at how they blow up and they are selling extremely well right now i think 5% for them is huge amount but i hope they can get more than just 5% tbh like what if it would be another case :(
I believe the aesthetic aespa has is called CYBERPUNK. It is a subgenre of science fiction in a dystopian futuristic setting that tends to focus on a combination of lowlife and high tech. Usually, this genre is identified with bleak imageries. Yet in aespa's case, they combined it with teen fantasy and imbued it with more positive vibes instead.
i'm actually kind of glad that y'all brought the whole æ's looking the same every single time because i have an answer for that !! so i don't know if you like notice or take note that in cartoon series or long animated movies the characters will rarely /rarely/ change clothes and it's because animation itself is already a difficult process that changing outfits or hair can be a very difficult lengthy thing to do, especially since (from what i can see) the æ's are like digitally created animations and not hand drawn frame by frame, it'd be way more difficult to have them changing outfits like the æspa girls do and having to reanimate and redesign everything than it would be to just have them with that one outfit and hair and then they can just upload the movements/etc and not do as much work
Also i think it is because SM want people to recognize the ae first. Having different outfit each comeback might confuse the people who is who especially since aespa is still new. So I think its a great marketing strategy to have ae their own representative clothes so people can recognize them easily. But having different outfits would be so good, I just think its too early for them to make changes or upgradessince aespa is still starting.
@itissillygucci yeah and in a K/DA mv all the budget goes into that. In an aespa music video they have to split that budget into the real members and the ae members, real set building, multiple staff, huge real camera rigs, etc.
Yes! Glad to see someone else knowing the Winx Club! 😂 And all the members have their own roles based on their song Aenergy. Karina is the Rocket Puncher, Giselle is the Xenoglossy, Winter is the Armamenter, and Ning Ning is the E.D. Hacker. Totally love seeing Winter harnessing all those weapons. 😍
Regarding the ae outfits, I think it is because SM wants people to recognize the ae first. Having different outfits each comeback might confuse the people who is who especially since aespa is still new. So I think its a great marketing strategy to have ae their own representative clothes so people can recognize them easily. But having different outfits would be so good, I just think its too early for them to make changes or upgrades since aespa is still starting. I hope soooonn they upgrade the ae's and make them look a lot better
I do understand the frustration like those models can be WELL DONE look at K/DA let alone they have different eras so why can’t AE- Aespa get done up 😩
Dahek did yall see K/DA performance from last year worlds??? I remember my butt clenched so hard from 2nd hand embarrassment. Search before comment, love.
I honestly think they're not clear on some purpose because watch how clear naevis is. Also the models from world's performance was ugly affff for league. I saw they wanna launch an app with an avatar creating function, so they got to keep it simple and maintain their avatar at that level which is why it may look simple.
@@sanuhh. also in the mv scenes naevis mostly is just standing, while aes move more, and there's four of them. More models means there's more to render, while naevis only standing and being the only one in the frame, they can render her more.
@@gui82able PC Music is a record label started by AG Cook. He worked with Sophie and the created the hyperpop sound basically. AG Cook produced a lot of songs for Charli XCX cementing her place in hyperpop.
re: the ae looking the same each time, in the SMCU ep the professor is explaining how ae are created (using the data you upload through social media), and one of the students brings up how many people choose to only share the best parts of themselves on social media, and sometimes even use Photoshop to alter themselves. The professor agrees and said that because of this, some people don’t recognize their ae, then he added that no matter how different, ae are still part of you. This also relates to what you say at 9:37: "Aren't they supposed to look similar to some degree? Nothing about each of them reminds me of the other" - they actually aren't supposed to look identical because of this data situation. Their personalities or thoughts relate closely to each other, so people get along well with their ae a lot of the time, and it increases their productivity if working together, but visually it's a big statement about the difference between a digital identity and an IRL person. The ae don't look exactly like the members, and are also sentient beings that don't look exactly like their human partner in how they dress, style their hair etc. I think so far they don't change looks partly because of what has happened with the connection, and partly because the ae just look like that anyway as it's most representative of the data they're formed from. I feel you though, I'd like to see some cool digital styles and effects etc but I think the answer kind of ties into what is happening between the dimensions and the connection problem caused by Black Mamba
Your observations were on point. Loved hearing your responses. It’s so true about SM, and how this group kind of epitomizes SM. The experimentation, the vocals. And the fact that Winter was a secret trainee, makes me think this group was part of SM’s plans for years. The SMCU concept is going to become more and more intricate as time goes on, and it’s utterly fascinating.
Maybe the avatars are staying “low budget kinda” cos they wanna launch an app with an avatar creating function, so they got to keep it simple and maintain their avatar at that level so they match…?
@@atsuki18 I mean whey you make a character, you don't make it look like you, but like a version you would like to be? that's the vibe they are going for (If I remember correctly from the SMCU video)
what all these concepts are trying to say is that we are prettier better than we know than what we're posting online. We may edit our faces or bodies in social media to look good but the real version are better even without filters. Aespa's songs are very motivating for one's confidence that this is who we are and no one can set a standard of beauty cause everyone's different in their own way.
9:25 i think the whole SMCU thing is heavily inspired by Marvel Universe as well. That's why the aes stay in the same clothes. Because superheroes also wear the same costume over and over again, even if they upgrade the costume it will still have the same vibe. Unless something HUGE happened to them, they got possessed, mutated or taken over by alien energy, major events you know.
Eddy mentioning the scandal regarding Karina and me going to Google every 5 seconds to research what he's talking about 😅 I don't really like girl groups (except Mamamoo) but watching you guys react to their videos is so much fun.
With Winter always having the weapon, you can listen to their song "aenergy". Winter is the armamenter there, so that kinda explains it. Always love your reactions!!
i still cant get over the savage font cuz it’s a font used by metal bands lol but damn i love savage. especially since nct sticker is a similar composition
As Eddy said, I see a huge and solid career for aespa ! They’re building their own league with their style ! I love hearing them talking, it feels like I’m in the room with them 😂
2:55 i think the aesthetics that edward's taking about here is "Acid Graphics". It's very popular nowadays and it became mainstream in the Graphic Design.
"Why the ae's still look the same?" "At least give them new outfit" It's not really that easy to make 3d avatars. Putting new elements on an already made 3d avatar is hard work. It takes time. It's only been 10 months since aespa debuted. Give them time. Maybe we will get something in their anniversary. :)
AHHHHHHHH I immediately thought of Sophie when I heard this. And I'm so excited that more artists are starting to be influenced by PC music because it's truly so good. I was HOPING it would be some kind of hyper pop moment from the teasers and I'm really happy :)))
this is my favorite reaction video so far (and the only one i will watch again after some time to relive this moment). this was so entertaining love u both 💞🥺
Giselle debuted as a member of aespa her dance/singing skills and her visual is improving Alot since then Ningning can pull any concepts like cute also girl crush her visual/dancing skills improve ALOT since the next level era was release
