I think a good safety idea would be to take a picture of the existing wire harness on the OBD port before you unlatch the wires in case you accidentally pull out the existing wires when installing the additional 2 wires..
Amazing video. I'm about to do this for my 2023 Gladiator that I lifted with the AEV kit, read the instructions and then decided to go to youtube. Found your video and there is no way I would have got this right without your help. Thank you very much. Looks like 3 years later this is still helping people!
After struggling with the AEV directions for about an hour my final result was the dreading blinking orange on the Snap. I then found your video which was a lifesaver! Thanks so much. AEV should post a link to your video.
Excellent instructional video! Your use of video, graphics, & explanation make it feel, as if, anyone can tackle whatever project you're showing. Thank you for all the effort you put into each video.
Cannot thank you enough for this video! Saved me a ton of time reasoning through sketchy instructions, with the result a perfect install. Thank you sir!!
Thank you, this made installation a breeze on my 2020 Gladiator. This video likely saved me a ton of time and frustration. While AEV provides great products, their instructions leave much to be desired.
Hey Matthew, Thanks and you are welcome. I found that any instructions out there, either in the manual or on RU-vid were lacking, so I thought making this video might prove helpful. Thanks for watching. I'm glad you found it helpful. Cheers.
Very nice job of describing how to lift the retainer clips and the correct orientation of the plug for the pin placement. Wish you had made this video 4 months ago when I struggled with this part of the install. Haha
Hey Mike, I know what you mean. I scoured the internet and the forums for something like this. Once I figured it out, I thought I should show it in a video for others who might be looking. It isn't an academy performance, but it should help...lol Thanks for the feedback. Cheers.
Wow great video. After doing the installation and the pairing perfectly the second horn for the calibration didn't work...is the car settled know or is something wrong??
Great video. Quick question...can you leave the cable in place even if you are taking the Jeep in for authorized service. Will it interfere with anything they may be doing. I understand that the ProCal can be removed after the calibration is complete. Thanks
Hey abnirvana996, Thanks for the feedback on the video. I'm gad you enjoyed it. I believe that you can leave the cable in place. I leave mine in, but then I've done almost all the service to the Jeep myself. I am not sure how the wire back there would interfere with anything. Cheers
Hello. Great video! Made my install a snap. But I am wanting to go with a tazer mini, for a few features I now need. How do I go about resetting my Jeep and removing the pro cal snap?
I'm not sure...it might involve using a pic or pin tool to pry out the plugs, but I'm not sure. You might consider the JScan instead of a tazer mini though. Check out this video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SUyCCdO8W4k.html
That was a great information on it so does it change the sift points when. Driving and how do you like it as my. 35 wheels and tires will here next week and how about your gas mileage. And sometime you should come to Brantford to meet our Jeep club on a Sunday
Hey Rob, I love the handling on the Jeep. I think the backspacing, placing the tires out a little actually helps my handling. As for the gas milage, it has suffered a little bit as a result of the 35s, but I expected that. I'd certainly come to one of your club meetings if invited. As soon as the restrictions lift, let me know. Thanks for the feedback on the video. Also, recalibrating for the correct tire size with the ProCal, will allow your speedometer to be accurate and your transmission to shift as per schedule. It doesn't actually change the shift points. Cheers.
That was a great video full of information. I loved the graphics you added to help visualize the information. I'm guessing your next video will be how to do a chalk test on your tires.
Hey Big Boy Biker, I only found two other sources on RU-vid on the install, which were too vague. I found some more info on the forums, and added the extra detail in my video. I'm glad you found it helpful. Feel free to share. ;-). Cheers.
Hey Andrew, Here is the User Guide for the ProCal that illustrates how to do that and more: www.aev-conversions.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/JLJT_SNAP_Booklet.pdf Cheers Cheers.
Hello! Thanks for the tutorial! After following all the steps, error 134 appeared on my board. so if I still bought it I would like to use it. any idea what I could do to use it?
I got the same error 134 too while programming my ProCal Snap, but after contacting customer support, they walked me through the step to solve the problem. 1st step, make sure your radio is on AM. 2nd step turn off the Bluetooth connection to the Uconnect. I unpaired my phone while I was programming it and everything worked. Great customer support from AEV and great video!!! I have lots of your video tutorials saved in my Wrangler playlist!! Thanks!
Thats a lot of steps to go through I was waiting for you to say on a full moon at midnight with a owl hooting three times on Halloween to get this thing to work right or a least to sacrifice a chicken to Baal
You're funny. For sure the JScan would have done the trick. But since the ProCal came with the lift, I thought I'd use it, and do this instructional video, as RU-vid didn't have many detailed examples.
@@CheaperJeeperTV No worries. But a suggestion that I might add(possibly for your viewer suggested tips and tricks), after calibrating with the procal it's a great idea to verify the accuracy of speedometer reading. I had to make several changes to dial my true 35" ko2s. I'm running about 37psi per my chalk test and I had to calibrate my procal to about 33 and some change. I used the GPS in my phone to verify my speed between changes. Also I found in the forums that you have to make larger than .2" to have the procal recognize the changes. Thanks for the video and your time.
Great video explaining how to use it. I took a much easier approach and purchased this AEV Procal Module from NorthRidge (www.northridge4x4.ca/part/programmers-tuners/30406007ag-aev-procal-module), you simply just PIN out the change you want to make on the module itself, plug it in, turn your ignition on, your horn will beep for confirmation, and then you turn it off. I know it works for the JK, not sure about the JL though.
Hey TrailWalker, I believe your unit for the JK is JK specific, as the ProCal I have is for the JL as it interfaces with the uConnect Infotainment System. Thanks for the info. Cheers.
@@CheaperJeeperTV Yep, Mine is made for the JK, but if there was one like that for the JL, it would make it pretty easy, no wiring required, just plug and play.
