Shaneman20, you don't have to replace this filter, AFE sells a cleaner for it($20). As for flow, I have talked to people at AFE and looked at some charts. The wet filters flow a little more but they do not trap as much dust particles. The dry filter the opposite. Just clean the thing every 10-15k miles and no problem. I'm going dry on my Hemi.
I'm with ya on the dry type filters. On an old truck, new at the time, i put in a k & n filter. I cleaned it when it got dirty, went to oil it and kept wondering "am i using to much oil? Am i not using enough? Will it filter properly if i don't use enough oil? Etc." i guess i used the right amount because i never had any problems but i do not like uncertainty when it comes to my truck. The next time it needed cleaning i chucked it and went back to a paper filter.
could have went with a S&B intake, They make a oil applicator bottle.with measurements so it cant be over oiled. I been running my oiled filter on my 17 silverado 5.3 no problems at all, tons of power and compliments my Mbrp exhaust beautifully. nice truck tho bud.
@@TheBeast77771 No, no tune required after ya install S&B intake they will also back you with warranty if ya have any problems with dealers. like any cold air intake and or mod to a vehicle from a stock system a tune will produce the most out of it but not mandatory in all cases to see some gains.

Get the green filter on your intake system i have an intake system called ddr it’s made from Kuwait they use the green filter and i gaind 30 hp with dyno tune
I installed the same AFe Momentum GT Pro Dry S on my 2017 Silverado Z71 w/6.2 and it works great. Really made the truck come to life with the Corsa Sport Exhaust I also have installed. Shaneman20 is spot on with the oiled filter vs dry filter and is the same reason I went with the dry over oiled. Flow is great and maintains a nice cool temperature across the power band along with keeping cool during load or off load applications.
Shane man great video man I got an 18, same I take installed today...threw a code p0325 bank 1 knock sensor, ever have that issue or come across anything similar? Cleared mines with my programmer and it hasn't came back

My used 2015 Silverado 5.3 came with this exact air intake with the dry filter. Is the dry filter washable. Or do you just clean them with a vacuum cleaner and once it is real dirty you chuck it out and get a new one???
Surprisingly, no. I can tell you that you'll be safe unplugging that even if the battery is plugged in. Never gave me codes or anything, but if you feel you want to disconnect your battery, you're more than welcome to do so.
