I got one for my 2001 Chevy and it only has 2 tunes a 87 tune and a Diablo tune. I don’t know if more needs downloaded or what

I run a max energy hypertech tune on mine. I also turned off v4 mode as I wanted nothing to do with it and plan to delete it out of the motor as soon as I get the chance. I changed my shift points and I took my shift firmness only to 50% if I remember right, got rid of the top speed, left mine on the regular gas tune, took my rev limiter up just a little to. It all made a noticeable difference. I have headers K&N black hawk air intake and a flowmaster after the cats that dumps out the side. Runs great! I love it! If I knew about the Diablo at the time when I got my hypertech I would have most likely went for that instead. I'm pretty sure you can get more out of the truck with them but idk I haven't ran one.

Canned tuned guy - "yeah ya know, it's just a lot of waiting and patience" done 10 minutes later. Meanwhile 2 days later over at the Dyno....this guy actually See's hp/tq gain #'s and better drive ability from his vehicle...lol. Save your money for a good, real, Dyno tune. Vehicles now days come with enough gauges. You don't need a giant 5x7" display suction cuped to your windshield. Unless you're like me, where you live in Alaska and the closest "tuner" is 400+ miles away. Than I suggest getting a laptop with HP Tuners and do some serious reading. Or becoming friends with a serious computer nerd. Just my $.02

Yep dyno is the end all be all. I got HP tuners no dyno though. As long as you got a wide band whats the worst that can happen lol

Cool videos man. Nice to have a review from a regular guy that’s not trying to sell anything. Nice truck too. I have 2013 Z71. Hung up between a mail order tune and ordering the diablo.

Justin Derasmo It really depends on what you have in mind for your truck. I'm definitely not trying to sell the products and I will speak my mind on how I feel about them. That, alone, should sell whatever it is you've got. I will say the tuner had been nice to be able to see a lot of parameters when driving or at rest, as well as data-logging. It also gives you the ability to adjust a lot of things from a simpler standpoint than, per say HPTuners. My only issue with it is the battery drain. So, whenever you're not using it, leave it unplugged. Not sure if they fixed that in the new Trinity 2.

Delete torque management on tcm. Give your wot 5% part %2. Should be a noticeable improvement. I run trinty also and love fine tuning.

I put a I INTUNE on my 15 Silverado loved it then I did custom tuning thro diablew and he made the can tune look so weak compared to his custom tune you try one of his custom tunes! I promise you wouldn’t be disappointed and it make a good RU-vid video comparing the can tune vs. the custom! he does the tune for 150 I think best investment ever! Keep up the good work enjoy watching your videos!!

Just ordered my Trinity T2! Can’t wait to hook it up. Do you have an idea of how much horsepower you gained? Also, can you change your transmissions shift points? I have a ‘15 Silverado and I hate the 6 speed transmission. I’m getting a Diablew tune within a couple weeks

Not entirely sure, but probably about 15-20 hp on top of whatever the CAI and cat-back exhaust has done for the truck. Probably about ~320whp as it sits, but I can't tell that much. And yes, you can changes shift points.

Great video ! . Still not really convinced that it's worth it for what the programmer cost vs the results that you get from the tune

+Jord TheMechanic Thanks man! It really depends on what you're wanting out of a tuner. If you just want to flash and data log some, going for the inTune is a better option. With the Trinity, you get a little more options and I like having the data in my face. It's all in what you want, my man.

Once I load a tune I can disconnect it from the truck right? I only need it plugged in if I’m data logging or making changes?

I've been working with the canned two for about 2 weeks. Did one week with AFM and one week without. For now, I'll probably leave AFM on for fuel savings, but ultimately, I will shut it off later.

Shaneman20 Send? Full disclosure, I did the “firm” tranny tune with an i3 and called it good. I left TM alone. If I go with a Lew Tune... “don’t do anything that’ll make it blow up if I romp on it” will be a primary OBJ.

That's actually what I did. Left it on the firm tune until I got the DiabLew Tune. Then I ran his tune, but I told him I wanted firm shifts.

Diablo tuner is a joke I know everybody says that they are great but they are limited to options and I also bought the new Trinity too and it was crap if you're going to get a tune get HP tuner at least you could do it and know that you're going to gain more horsepower than 5 to 15 and have more options like if you put headers on or cold air intake

I did have drain issues as soon as it started getting cold. I leave it unplugged now to keep from having that issue, but I plug it back in whenever I want to use it.

Ice Castle Sales Chevy calls it AFM. Deactivate’s 4 cylinders, making it run in V4 mode. Champ

Well, I did two flashes. When you boot up the trinity for the first time, you go through all the stuff ,and you go to the performance section and select your tune, it'll automatically back up your factory ECU and TCM tunes. The first time I did it, it didn't capture the TCM tune for some reason. So, I reset everything and did it all over again. No big deal. Doesn't take very long at all. So, technically, I did two tunes. First was a screw up on my end (but didn't damage or harm anything), and the second one was one of the canned tunes and a TCM tune.

I don’t get why everyone on here wants to disable active fuel management? It saves you fuel! Period I can see turning it off if you have a oil pressure manifold issue with it and it’s setting a code, and maybe you don’t have the cash to fix it. But beyond that why not save fuel? You guys act like you are driving top fuel funny cars , ITS A TRUCK. I have a 15 GMC I’ll never turn it off I get sweet mileage on the highway and when I step into it it goes what more could I ask for?

Believe it or not, I actually got better gas mileage with full bolt ons and a tune that disabled AFM.

Until you lose a lifter and a camshaft. Dealers only wants 6k to replace the camshaft. Government interference in production of a great engine cost us all.
